ThoughtRogue:  Has the left gone insane?  (or were they already there?)  Granting Jihadist terrorist combatants MY civil rights under our U.S. Constitution is verging on insane.  And then, trying them in American civilian courts, with all the rules of discovery and evidence, and so on, takes the cake, doesn’t it?

A few Questions which “Progressives” must answer satisfactorily in this case before trying KSM and his band of cohorts in New York City:

• When did OBL and fellow Islamo-fascist terrorists sign on to the Geneva Convention?
• What’s wrong exactly with Military Tribunals for these Jihadi wraiths, which have been used successfully since our Revolutionary War?  (and have recently been successfully vetted by the Supreme Court and Congress)
• Why exactly can’t Leftists understand the simple difference between Militant acts of War, and Civil Crimes?
• Were the horrific attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. really just one great mugging by poor Islamists?
• In selecting his trial’s jury, who exactly will be KSM’s “Peers”?  Can you say, OJ?
• Do we really want the standard of Justice for those who commit Acts of War against us, to gladly let 9 out of 10 Jihadists go free, lest one of them be imperfectly condemned?
• Isn’t this simply a Show Trial by the Obamunists, which will drag-on magically until just before the 2012 election, really their strategy to finally put Bush & Company on trial for their alleged plethora of “crimes” against Jihadists?

ThoughtRogue- Well, these videos certainly are igniting the fire within me.  How broken and out-of-control can our “government” get?  Apparently, the elite have forgotten (or more likely, have never known) about the meaning of the First Amendment to our Constitution, where it clearly states:

“Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech… or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Hellloooo??!  Watch, and get fired up.  If you have not contacted your Congress-persons for a while, NOW IS THE TIME for them TO HEAR YOUR VOICE in Washington, DC.  If this socialized medicine [excrement sandwich] is, in the end, crammed down the Peoples’ throat, have no regrets that you exercised your Constitutional Rights to stop this abomination!

ThoughtRogue:  45 years ago, as Barry Goldwater’s presidential campaign was going down in flames, another man stepped forward, keeping the embers of liberty alive, later relighting the torch of freedom.  He told us that Americans have a “Rendezvous with Destiny.”  I think it’s Deja Vu Rendezvous-time!  Isn’t it high time to Re-Ignite the Flame?

ThoughtRogue:  Apparently, some people, especially liberals in Canadian Parliament, cannot understand the incredibly vital distinction between the Right to Freedom of Speech, and how a person with that right chooses to exercise it.  The liberally concocted “Hate” obsession has fostered the self-delusion to extraordinary levels.  Government prosecution for “hate”, i.e. deciding to be offended by someone else’s speech, then pretending this has caused them great bodily harm, finally culminating in the reading of people’s minds and then condemning them, not only for the criminal use of Free Speech but also for preventing future crimes that certainly MAY occur (perhaps, maybe.. waaaahh!), does not apparently strike a leftist Canadian as loony – not to mention literally uncivilized and dangerous.

Perhaps, just as a fish will never admit that they are all wet, a liberal, leftist MP will never admit that their own use of “Free Speech” and their self-proclaimed ability and authority to adjudicate it is evermore dangerous than mere hate-speech itself.  These kangaroo commissions of goodness which Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn have recently tangled with is of the same strain of virulent liberal sickness which is now attempting to entrap Dr. Paul L. Williams within its blood-sucking tentacles.  What kind of society would attempt to criminalize opinion – by those who disagree with just that certain opinion, of course (the working definition of “hateful” speech!)?

I watched these vids last night and became somewhat mesmerized by Ezra and Mark’s incisive, cogent smackdown of Canada’s wussy kangaroo commissioners regarding the Canadian “Human Rights” Commission.  I suspect a couple of the parliamentarians on the committee panel understood what “freedom of speech” really means, but most of these loons were clearly blinded by their own wishy-washy political-correctness fantasies.  As an evil opinionated U.S. Citizen myself I must ask, Is it a requirement for a Canadian politician to come across at all times as completely wussified and obtuse while as downright BLAND as possible?  HATE!!  Arrest HIM!!  Call in the Free Speech Mounties!

Today, Mark Steyn and I testified before Parliament’s Justice and Human Rights Committee, in support of their investigations into the Canadian Human Rights Commission and their discredited censorship powers.

Later this week I’ll share some of my views about how it went, including my assessment of the questions from the MPs. (In a word, I was quite encouraged.) TR:  Can’t you wait for your DMV-style Healthcare?  I don’t know about you, but there’s something so motivating, like in the pit of my stomach, when I hear such a compelling message from overpaid celebrities.  Hey, Obama’s a Celebrity and a False Idol.  Not bad for someone who can’t run a lemon-ade stand, and still refuses to release any documentation revealing WHO he really is!

As the vote for Chicago to host the 2016 Games epically failed, Mrs. Winfrey’s chartered 727 nearly failed to get airborne before reaching the end of the runway.  It was earlier reported that Ms. Oprah was torn between sampling Michelle’s O’s homegrown White House Kale, versus raiding the famed Danish pastry shops while enduring her international lobbying mission on behalf of her svelte hometown.

In other major news, Obamunist Administration officials were nearly giddy with their early success in strong-arming the Iranians in their recent meeting with Shia delegates from the Religion of Peace.  An announcement was made immediately following the appeasement talks where it was agreed to meet again!.. sometime in the near future!.. no really, soon.. to continue discussing how we can All get along in peace, learning to live happily adjacent to a nuclear armed Iran.  And, who knows, we could even have another meeting at some point and all hold hands, singing together with a banjo around the fire.. sometime soon.  Yes, we can!
