Double Speak in the War for Freedom in Iran

COMMENTARY

Tell us, where is everyone? Where did all the people who demonstrated against Israel’s brutality in Operation Cast Lead, in the Second Lebanon War, in Operation Defensive Shield, or even in The Hague, when we were dragged there unwillingly after daring to build a separation barrier between us and the suicide bombers, disappear to? We see demonstrations here and there, but these are mainly Iranian exiles. Europe, in principle, is peaceful and calm. So is the United States. Here and there a few dozens, here and there a few hundreds. Have they evaporated because it is Tehran and not here?

All the peace-loving and justice-loving Europeans, British professors in search of freedom and equality, the friends filling the newspapers, magazines and various academic journals with various demands for boycotting Israel, defaming Zionism and blaming us and it for all the ills and woes of the world — could it be that they have taken a long summer vacation? Now of all times, when the Basij hooligans have begun to slaughter innocent civilians in the city squares of Tehran? Aren’t they connected to the Internet? Don’t they have YouTube? Has a terrible virus struck down their computers? Have their justice glands been removed in a complicated surgical procedure (to be re-implanted successfully for the next confrontation in Gaza)? How can it be that when a Jew kills a Muslim, the entire world boils, and when extremist Islam slaughters its citizens, whose sole sin is the aspiration to freedom, the world is silent?

Imagine that this were not happening now in Tehran, but rather here. Let’s say in Nablus. Spontaneous demonstrations of Palestinians turning into an ongoing bloodbath. Border Policemen armed with knives, on motorcycles, butchering demonstrators. A young woman downed by a sniper in midday, dying before the cameras. Actually, why imagine? We can just recall what happened with the child Mohammed a-Dura. How the affair (which was very harsh, admittedly) swept the world from one end to another. The fact that a later independent investigative report raised tough questions as to the identity of the weapon from which a-Dura was shot, did not make a difference to anyone. The Zionists were to blame, and that was that.

And where are the world’s leaders? Where is the wondrous rhetorical ability of Barack Obama? Where has his sublime vocabulary gone? Where is the desire, that is supposed to be built into all American presidents, to defend and act on behalf of freedom seekers around the globe? What is this stammering?

obama-freedom

A source who is connected to the Iranian and security situation, said yesterday that if Obama had shown on the Iranian matter a quarter of the determination with which he assaulted the settlements in the territories, everything would have looked different. “The demonstrators in Iran are desperate for help,” said the man, who served in very senior positions for many years,

”they need to know that they have backing, that there is an entire world that supports them, but instead they see indifference. And this is happening at such a critical stage of this battle for the soul of Iran and the freedom of the Iranian people. It’s sad.”

Or the European Union, for example. The organization that speaks of justice and peace all year round. Why should its leaders not declare clearly that the world wants to see a democratic and free Iran, and support it unreservedly? Could it be that the tongue of too many Europeans is still connected to dark places? The pathetic excuse that such support would give Khamenei and Ahmadinejad an excuse to call the demonstrators “Western agents,” does not hold water. They call them “Western agents” in any case, so what difference does it make?

To think that just six months ago, when Europe was flooded with demonstrations against Israel, leftists and Islamists raised pictures of Nasrallah, the protégé of the ayatollah regime. The fact that this was a benighted regime did not trouble them. This is madness, but it is sinking in and influencing the weary West. If there is a truly free world here, let it appear immediately! And impose sanctions, for example, on those who slaughter the members of their own people. Just as it imposed them on North Korea, or on the military regime in Burma. It is only a question of will, not of ability.

Apparently, something happens to the global adherence to justice and equality, when it comes to Iran. The oppression is overt and known. The Internet era broadcasts everything live, and it is all for the better. Hooligans acting on behalf of the regime shoot and stab masses of demonstrators, who cry out for freedom.

Is anything more needed? Apparently it is. Because it is to no avail. The West remains indifferent. Obama is polite. Why shouldn’t he be, after all, he aspires to a dialogue with the ayatollahs. And that is very fine and good, the problem is that at this stage there is no dialogue, but there is death and murder on the streets. At this stage, one must forget the rules of etiquette for a moment. The voices being heard from Obama elicit concern that we are actually dealing with a new version of Chamberlain. Being conciliatory is a positive trait, particularly when it follows the clumsy bellicosity of George Bush, but when conciliation becomes blindness, we have a problem.

The courageous voice of Angela Merkel, who issued yesterday a firm statement of support for the Iranian people and its right to freedom, is in the meantime a lone voice in the Western wilderness. It is only a shame that she has not announced an economic boycott, in light of the fact that this is the European country that is most invested in building infrastructure in Iran. She was joined by British Foreign Secretary Miliband. It is little, it is late, it is not enough. Millions of freedom seekers have taken to the streets in Iran, and the West is straddling the fence, one leg here, the other leg there.

There is a different Islam. This is already clear today. Even in Iran. There are millions of Muslims who support freedom, human rights, equality for women. These millions loathe Khamenei, Chavez and Nasrallah too. But part of the global left wing prefers the ayatollah regime over them. The main thing is for them to raise flags against Israel and America. The question is why the democrats, the liberals, and Obama, Blair and Sarkozy, are continuing to sit on the fence. This is not a fence of separation, it is a fence of shame.

What is Neda’s Fourth of July Message?

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

by Amil Imani

Neda, Martyred for Freedom

Neda, Martyred for Freedom

Neda, the young and beautiful freedom-loving Iranian student was slain in cold-blood by the current Islamic regime in Iran. Almost instantly, Neda became, not only the divine call of the Iranian uprising, but, she symbolized the call for liberty around the globe. Here’s the video of Richard Roth’s report which contained the image of Neda.

If either President Ronald Reagan or President John F. Kennedy were alive today, they would stand in solidarity with the Iranian people. In fact, they would declare “Today we are all Iranians.”   It appears the Iranian people are showing the world what a revolution looks like and some Americans have started paying close attention and taking notes.

Neda knew the value of freedom. She died for it. Her blood was not wasted and she did not die in vain. Headlines have heralded the young woman as a martyr and some even dubbed her Iran’s Joan of Arc. Not only has she become a “symbol of goodness” battling against her brutal oppressor, her story has laid open a much larger issue, freedom and liberty. There is a site dedicated to Neda proclaiming, “We are all Neda.”

Each year, on the fourth of July, we celebrate America’s birth and independence. This is a day that the heart of every American must glow with pride and appreciation. On this special occasion, the Iranian martyr, Neda, has a special message for all freedom-loving Americans: “Do not take your liberty for granted” “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure,” said Thomas Jefferson. I think Neda would have said, “I have given my blood for the cause of liberty for my country and I hope you don’t have to give yours once again.”

We are going through some troubled times in America. We Americans need to wake up and realize that our liberties and freedoms that we take for granted are slowly and inexorably being taken from us. Once we lose them, it will be very hard to get them back. Let the blood of the Persian freedom-fighter, Neda, inspire all of us to cherish our liberty. “We are fighting and dying on the streets of Tehran to have what you have had for more than two centuries. You, America, have been an inspiration to millions of us in Iran to become free, free to roam, free to grow, and free to bloom,” Neda would have said.

As we celebrate the 4th of July, it is my hope that all freedom-loving Americans remain mindful of how precious that day is to our country’s storied history. On July 4, 1776, America declared its independence from England, the old white grandfather across the sea.  The miracle of America happened and its dynamic birth rapidly changed the entire world. Neda would have wished her blood would cause the Iranians to gain their freedom and our two countries once again become the staunchest friends.

America is a nation and an ideal, birthed by a group of visionaries that gave it the Constitution to nurture it and protect it. What makes America, “America the Beautiful,” more than just a blessed land is your legacy, the Constitution. Sadly, the Constitution also makes for “America the vulnerable” by enshrining freedom that enables the malevolent to subvert and destroy America from within. You are the guardian of the Constitution. You and only you determine the health and survival of America.

Democracy, by its accommodating and benign nature, is susceptible to corruption and even destruction by forces from within and from without. With this realization in mind, the founding fathers of our country enshrined the constitution to safeguard and protect the rule of the people.

America is defined by the last phrase of our national anthem: The land of the free and the home of the brave. Freedom, in all its forms, is our greatest legacy, for which our nation has bravely fought many wars on many fronts against the unceasing assaults of totalitarianism of all stripes. Time and again, the flowers of our nation bravely sacrificed their lives to protect freedom and liberty.

I am reminded of the words of our great President Abraham Lincoln when he, in 1863, described our nation as “a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Is this still the case, or how much is government stealing from us?  In 1776, our Founders stood up, put their lives and fortunes on the line and declared their freedom and independence from the chains and shackles of the King of United Kingdom. I hope all Americans, once again, unite for the love of freedom and are willing to stand up and declare their Freedom and Independence, not from the United Kingdom, but from the chains and shackles of our own government and its lackeys.

First things first. Our highest priority is the preservation of this nation of the free. We have done what it took in the past and we must do what it takes now and in the future to safeguard our precious liberty. America is not perfect. Yet, it is the very best hope for a humanity struggling to find its humanness. America is worth defending.

Most Iranian Women Reject the Hijab, but are Forced to Wear It!

Most Iranian Women Reject the Hijab, but are Forced to Wear It!

For the past 30 years, the illegitimate government of the Islamic Republic has been waging a brutal war against the entire population of Iran. For 30 years Iranians have been fighting for individual and religious freedom. Iranians have suffered so much, and they are risking their livesand ready to die so that the next Iranian generation does not have to live in the nightmare of a backward Islamic barbarity.

As Iranians have started the fight for their freedom and liberty, we must strive to keep ours. We must put aside our minor differences that have divided us in the past and unite as one strong political force to restore our fading Freedom and Liberty. “The history of liberty is a history of resistance.”

In conclusion, I would like to thank all Americans who wrote songs and poems in remembrance of a freedom-loving Iranian patriot, Neda. My special thanks goes out to United States Senator McCain who spoke on the floor of the U.S. Senate (and his 4th of July message), remembering the champion of freedom, Neda, and to the honorable Congressman McCotter’s beautiful eulogy about Neda’s assassination by the direct order of the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. I am eternally grateful for millions of people who have kept Neda’s memory alive. Regrettably, President Obama has stated he wants to make a deal with Neda’s murderers. America, now it is up to you to object to any negotiations with those who murdered our freedom-loving and innocent human being, Neda.

Happy Independence Day, America!

Islam’s Victimization of Iran

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

by Amil Imani a No Compromise Media Contributor

Some 1400 years ago, across the arid Arabian Peninsula roamed disparate primitive tribes in a constant state of war with one another.  Acts of violence, pillage and slave trading were their way of life. Out of necessity and expediency, they refrained from active warfare for only one month a year—the month of Moharam (the forbidden month). Even during this lull in active warfare, the various tribes rearmed and prepared for the next eleven months of bloodletting. Violence of the worst kind and form was their way of life.

Although the ongoing warfare inflicted great suffering and death, it remained the major means of livelihood for the survivors in the harsh desert that sustained little other than the hardy goats, desert-suited camels and the indispensable vehicles of war—horses.

Violent death ruled. The victor had a reprieve for a time ‘til he became the victim.

Then there was a new summons. An orphan from the tribe of Quraish by the name of Muhammad, the son of the late Abdullah, offered the savages a deal they couldn’t refuse. He said that they should stop worshiping all the various idols in the idolatry of Mecca and turn to the one and only god, Allah, one of their numerous idols. He said it is Allah who is the creator of the universe and Allah has another world of immense bounty and pleasure. He promised the savages that by embracing Allah, banding together and carrying out his commands they assure themselves of great worldly spoils as well as eternal admission to a glorious paradise.

Muhammad promised further that instead of warring against one another, as they have done for millennia, for pittance of reward, they could venture out beyond the impoverished desert into a world of great wealth and bounties. Muhammad motivated his rapidly growing body of followers to rally around him by proclaiming, (1) if they are victorious they will have the treasures of the infidels as well as their women and children as slaves to hold or sell, (2) if the faithful kill the infidels in doing the work of Allah, further reward awaits them in paradise and, (3) in the unlikely event that they are killed, they find themselves in Allah’s glorious paradise for an eternal life of joy and bliss.

NC Reminds:  These riots ARE NOT about Mousavi losing the election.  The Citizens of Iran want FREEDOM. They are done with the mullahs controlling them, they are down with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his secret police, they are done with the mobile cranes that go from neighborhood to neighborhood on Fridays hanging the woman for not wearing the hijab! They are fighting for freedom!   Never forget that!

The Tree of Liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and Patriots.  Long live the memory of this Patriot!

Analysis: Iran at the Tipping Point by Ilana Freedman

Iran has reached a point of no return. The increasingly violent demonstrations in the streets of Iran’s cities are growing larger and louder as Iranians continue to protest the results of a well-orchestrated, fraudulent national election. The outcome of the June 12th elections, was determined long before the Iranian people went to the ballot boxes. Although the final results of the election were not supposed to be announced until Monday, June 15, Ahmadinejad preempted the announcement on the 13th, declaring himself the winner. This was despite the fact that the counting of nearly forty million votes was clearly impossible in such a short time.

Ahmadinejad gave an audacious performance at a press conference the following day, touting what he called the ‘real and free’ election process. Pandering to the West, he ignored the oppressive reality under which the Iranian people live.

“The elections belong to the people,” he said, “and were conducted by the people. Forty million participated in them. The people have made their decision . . . . The response of our people is very clear – those forty million who participated in the elections exist here and now. Those twenty million or so who voted for me exist here and now. At any given point in the future, they will repeat their heroic act. That is what the Iranian people is all about.”

“Iran supports peace, justice, and brotherhood”, he continued. “Don’t you worry about us. Freedom here is almost absolute. As proof of this, you see that people can say whatever they like. They are not afraid of persecution.”

Well, the people are speaking now. And ‘freedoms’ that Ahmadinejad boasted of in his press conference have gone by the wayside. The wheels of oppression are now in full play to suppress all displays of dissent among the Iranian people. Persecution is clearly the reward that the government wants dissenters to reap.

Iran Election: The Beginning of the End

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

by Amil Imani & Dr. Arash Irandoost

Iran’s President Ahmadinejad, a veteran of the Islamic Republic’s repressive Revolutionary Guard, took office on August 3, 2005, after unexpected win in a sham presidential election — there are no democratic elections in the Islamic Republic of Iran. All candidates are prescreened by the Guardian Council before they are allowed to run for office.  In practice, a president of Iran is already chosen through a farce process of giving the voters a chance to elect one of the men hand-picked from the regime’s functionaries, as was the case with President Ahmadinejad.

During the previous “election,” only a small percentage of the voters bothered to vote, since voting under the pre-screening and undemocratic system of the mullahs is more like selection than election. The result of staying away from the polls materialized in the person of the fascist Ahmadinejad.
The great majority of the people of Iran are disillusioned and even disgusted by the mediaeval incompetent, oppressive, and corrupt rule of the mullahs, irrespective of which mafia gang is in power. The votes, more than anything else, are protest ballots cast against the entire system, rather than indications of support for the so-called conservative-moderate coalition.

NC Sez:  The Iranian authorities are using the same techniques of telecommunications black-outs as favoured by NY Mayor Bloomberg and Barack Obama!  Moreover, the Obama Administration and the LameStream US Media have tried their best to cover the blood-stained asses of the Iranian Mullahs. [Jimmy] “Carter’s Folly” continues into the 21st century, flowing from crisis to crisis in a never ending river of blood.  Some commentaors have suggested that the current Administration finds the Iranian response to dissent “deeply moving” and “inspirational”. News Black-Out

iran07

What’s taking place in Iran?

For an answer, don’t turn to CNN or Fox News and don’t listen to White House officials.

Millions have taken to the streets to protest the June 12 rigged election of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

iran02

The University of Tehran has been ransacked.

Several protestors have been killed and thousands have been injured.

It is the greatest popular uprising that the 21st Century has witnessed.

And yet, to find fair and balanced coverage of the momentous event, one had to turn to foreign news outlets.

iran04

Christiane Amanpour, CNN’s chief international correspondent, opted to whitewash the turmoil in her native country, prompting thousands on Twitter to voice their outrage.

“Why aren’t you covering this with everything you’ve got?” Steve LaBate, an Atlanta resident, asked CNN on Twitter.

While LaBate and others were venting their frustration, CNN was showing a repeat of Larry King’s interview with the stars of the “American Chopper” show.

iran06

Part of the reason for the CNN and Fox black-out is explained by the fact that a good chunk of AOL Time Warner (parent company of CNN) and New Corp (parent company of Fox News) is owned by Prince Alwaleed Ibn Talal the Saudi billionaire. For this reason, the Saudis serve as a filter for events in the Middle East that are viewed by American and Canadian audiences.

More difficult to explain is the suppressed reaction from White House officials. While blood was being spilled in the streets of Tehran, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said:

“We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds in Iran but we, like the rest of the world, are waiting and watching to see what the Iranian people decide.”

Understatement, to say the least.

iran05

Equally bizarre is the statement from White House spokesman Robert Gibbs that the administration remains

“impressed by the vigorous debate and enthusiasm that this election generated, particularly among young Iranians.”

Not a word about the turmoil in the streets or the ransacking of the university.

t-univ01

teru02

teru03

teru04

Compounding the weirdness are the comments, which were made by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on NBC’s

“Meet the Press: “I have doubts, but withhold comment.”

Doublespeak has never been stated more clearly.

iran03

Meanwhile, the Iranian authorities are continuing a crackdown on journalists and information that began after the announcement of the disputed presidential election results. Journalists are still being arrested and more censorship measures have been adopted as President Ahmadinejad’s allies try to suppress media coverage of fraud allegations.

“Independent sources of news and information find it very hard to make their voice heard now in Iran because of the censorship,” Reporters Without Borders said. “The authorities are tightening their grip on all news media and means of communication that could be used to dispute Ahmadinejad reelection ‘victory’. They are doing everything possible to limit coverage of the consequences of the election fraud.”

iran08

But let’s not romanticize Ahmadinejad’s opponent, Mir Hossein Mousavi as a champion of religious tolerance and western civilization. While Mousavi calls for the creation of non-government TV networks and the elimination of the country’s Moral Police, he calls the United States “the Great Satan,” who must be encountered with “iron fists”; calls for the assassination of novelist Salmon Rushdie; and labels Israel “a cancerous tumor that must be removed.” But, in recent appearances, Mousavi has condemned the killing of Jews in the Holocaust – - a most liberal position for an Islamist.

America’s Abundance Has Led to Apathy

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

by Amil Imani

The vast land of United States was once inhabited by a relatively small number of indigenous people. These native “Indians” had lived throughout the land for thousands of years, and they will always remain the first inhabitants of what is now the United States. These native people helped the pilgrims survive the winter.  Later, European immigrants came and the number of settlements finally outgrew the native Americans.

Then, on July 4, 1776, America declared its independence from England, the old white grandfather across the sea.  The miracle of America happened, and its dynamic birth rapidly changed the entire world.

America developed into thirteen colonies, then into the strong 50 states that she is today. In a very short time, America grew from a log cabin settlement to the largest and most technologically powerful economy in the world. The United States is a nonpareil icon and the envy of the world.

In many surprising ways America resembles the great ancient Persian Empire. Like the Persians, who rarely regret the past, Americans always believe “the best days are ahead.” Like the ancient Persian Empire once was, the United States is the greatest country in the world.

Like the ancient Persians who were the first world managers and the most tolerant empire-builders, America, by its constitution, is also the most tolerant and benevolent nation in the world. Ancient Persian kings released the Jews from Babylonian captivity, financed the reestablishment of their nation, and restored their national religion. (Zionists, they were!)

America has basically done the same. America is, in a strange sense, a reincarnation of Persia, an extension of the Achaemanid Empire. No wonder the immigrant Persians (Iranian-Americans) hold the United States very close to their hearts and have blossomed here in their new home.

Safeguarding Cyrus the Great Cylinder

To:  UNESCO World Heritage, the British Government, the British Museum, International media, and all organizations and individuals concerned with preservation of humanity’s precious treasures

The Cyrus Cylinder

The Cyrus Cylinder

The British Museum is planning to lend the Islamic Republic in April, one of the most precious antiquities in the world, Cyrus the Great Cylinder. The Cyrus Cylinder has been hailed as the first charter of human rights. In 1971, in recognition of the unique nature of this artifact, the United Nations produced a translation of it in all the UN official languages.

A vast number of Iranians are deeply concerned about the fate of the Cyrus Cylinder, should it be loaned to the Islamists presently ruling Iran. The hostility of the clerical regime of Iran toward anything and everything Iranian that predates Islam is a well-documented fact. This priceless artifact belongs to Iran. Entrusting it to the hands of the sworn enemies of Iranian heritage entails an unacceptably high risk. It is imperative that the British authorities rescind the decision and take every measure to insure that the Cyrus Cylinder is preserved safely and returned to its rightful owner Iran only after the demise of the Islamic Republic.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is staffed by diehard elements that are determined to wipe out all traces of the pre-Islamic era. They aim to surpass the heinous act of Afghanistan’s Taliban who destroyed the irreplaceable two Buddha statues. What is enshrined in the Cyrus Cylinder is unconditional respect for the complete rights of all the people of the world, an anathema to the Islamists’ credo.

The current Islamic regime under the mullahs has shown, on numberless occasions, its contempt both in words and action for the memory of Cyrus, including flooding the plain which houses Cyrusís tomb, destroying the archeological sites of Pasargad and Persepolis, and harassing and intimidating those who would gather at the tomb of enlightened king to commemorate the International Day of Cyrus the Great.

It is with great apprehension that the Iranian people warn Mr. Andrew Murray Burnham, the British Secretary of State for culture, as well as the British government regarding the plan to lend this precious treasure of humanity to a contemptuous cult of medieval mullahs.

Furthermore, it is urgent that UNESCO take the additional step of immediately registering Cyrusís Charter of Human Rights Cylinder in its World Heritage Memory, in order to safeguard the diverse cultural heritage of the peoples of the world.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Nuclear Hope Destined for Iran’s Change

Tags: , , , , ,

TR:  Note – The following breaking story is not a joke.

Officials approved the Central Bank of Iran’s new logo (below) to be displayed on their currency notes and coins to commemorate the recent successful launch and orbit of their home-crafted “data-processing” satellite named Omid.

“Omid” is Persian for “Hope” [clever!] and was delivered to low-orbit in space in early February 2009 by Iran’s Safir 2 rocket.  This development comes ironically at the same time as analysts predict Iran is on the verge of having refined enough highly-enriched uranium to construct their first nuclear bomb.  Iranian officials, who deny the Holocaust’s murder of six million Jews, and who continue to pledge to Allah and the world the utter destruction of the Nation of Israel, are adamant that their accelerating nuclear enrichment programs are strictly for “peaceful” purposes.

Omid Logo, Persian for "Hope", to be put on Iran's Change

Omid Logo, Persian for "Hope", to be put on Iran's Change

TR:  Huh, this logo seems mighty familiar to me..   Wait..  Those Persian bastard Trekkie Infidels!!

I can hear James Tiberius Kirk swiveling to center in his captain’s chair, and barking a few cogent orders in Shakespearean tone:

“Sulu – set our course immediately for the Sol system, planet Earth.

Chekov – arm the photon torpedoes, and lock on ship’s phasers to Tehran, Iran, as soon as possible!”

ACTION REQUIRED: NIAC to present their capitulation plan on Iran

Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Nov. 14, 2008: Update. Next Tuesday’s meeting of National Iranian American Council, NIAC,  to present their capitulation plan on Iran will begin at 2:30 PM in room 902 of the U.S. Senate Hart building. It is being sponsored by Sen. Thomas Carper (D, DE), who will also give a keynote address, as will Rep. John Tierney (D, MA). NIAC, which is organizing the event, is attempting to prevent Iranian-American activists from attending this meeting, by requiring prior registration. (RSVP to Hormoz Rashidi at rsvp@niacouncil.org or (202) 386-6324).

This is typical for NIAC, and for NIAC president Trita Parsi, who knows that his capitulation policies are deeply unpopular with Iranian-Americans. Parsi has refused to debate with critics such as Hassan Daioleslam or with FDI.

ACTION: Call Sen. Carper’s office: 202-224-2441, and Rep. John Tierney’s office 202-225-8020 using the script below.

For more information, go to www.iran.org

Updates will posted over the weekend on this website.
