Spencer: The Speech Obama Should Give in Cairo

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

In The American Thinker today I offer the President a speech:

As Barack Obama prepares to give his long-anticipated major address to the Islamic world from Cairo, as a public service I here offer the speech he should give:Dear friends,

I have said that in this speech I would offer my personal commitment to engagement with the Islamic world, based upon mutual interests and mutual respect. Establishing peace between the forces of the global jihad and America and her ally Israel is something that I would very much love to do. The first thing I must acknowledge, however, is that much as I would love to see this peace dawning over the world, it is not within my power to achieve this.

That may surprise many of you. You have grown accustomed to thinking that the tensions between Muslims and the United States – tensions that boiled over on September 11, 2001 and on the occasions of many other acts of jihad terrorism as well – are entirely the fault of the United States. Americans have been told that we are hated because of our support for Israel, and because of our attempts to bring freedom and stability to the overwhelmingly Muslim people of Iraq and Afghanistan. We are hated because we have spent American treasure to try to secure a better life for Muslims the world over, spending billions of dollars in aid for Egypt, Pakistan, and other Muslim countries.

I must speak honestly with you. It puzzles and pains Americans to see ourselves vilified and hated for trying to help others. Now, unlike the Islamic Republic of Iran and other Islamic entities, we seek no apologies, no restitution. We do not ask for a word of thanks for our numerous attempts to help Muslim societies become safe, prosperous places to live for all their citizens. We do not ask for your approval. But at this point we are going to cease efforts to build bridges of understanding with the Islamic world that have turned out to be fruitless, and even self-defeating.We have showered billions on Pakistan to enable the Pakistani government to fight the Islamic jihadists, only to see a great deal of that money being funneled to those same jihadists, who are now stronger than ever.

We have tried to establish democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan, only to see non-Muslim minorities treated worse than ever, such that they have been streaming out of Iraq in unprecedented numbers, while the few that remain in Afghanistan are subject to increasingly violent persecution.

We have brokered peace treaty after peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians – from Camp David to Oslo to the Road Map for Peace – only to see the Palestinian side again and again trample upon its commitments to recognize and respect Israel’s basic right to exist.

I have offered you America’s outstretched hand. In doing so I have followed a path blazed by my predecessors. But that gesture of conciliation has never been reciprocated. And so now, even as my good will is still extended to you, I must act more realistically.

Pakistan and other Muslim countries will not receive another penny of American aid unless and until they demonstrate – in a transparent and inspectable fashion – that they are working against, not abetting, the forces of the global jihad. This will include instituting comprehensive nationwide programs to teach against the jihad doctrine of Islamic supremacism, teaching that Muslims and non-Muslims must live together as equal citizens on an indefinite basis, without any attempts by Muslims to subjugate non-Muslims as inferiors under the rule of Islamic law.

I trust you will understand that we cannot continue to fund the cutting of our own throat.

Afghanistan and Iraq must immediately guarantee the equality of rights of women and non-Muslims, or American arms will no longer devote themselves to keeping regimes in power that do not guarantee those rights.

I will call upon Israel to make no further territorial concessions. The withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 demonstrated only that such concessions whet, rather than sate, the appetites of Islamic jihadists for more concessions. The assumption that territorial concessions will bring peace ignores not only recent history, but also the stated goal of the jihadist movements arrayed against Israel: the destruction of the Jewish state.

That state is an American ally – a more reliable one than any Islamic state has ever been. And we will do whatever is necessary to preserve and defend that ally.

Our hand is outstretched, but we are not unrealistic about the nature of the world. The animus between us is as much, if not more, the result of the doctrines of jihad and Islamic supremacism as it is a result of American policy. I am telling you today that we understand this, and will be acting accordingly. Ultimately a policy based on realism will be much better for both of us than policies based on the fantasies and half-truths that have hitherto prevailed.

Thank you, and may God bless you.

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE  “AWARENESS CAMPAIGN AGAINST TERRORISM”

IN WASHINGTON, D.C. DURING PRESIDENT BARACK

OBAMA’S INAUGURAL PARADE ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2009

Groups from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia have planned an “Awareness Campaign Against Terrorism” under the banner of Coalition for Peace, in Washington, D.C. during the inaugural ceremony of President Barack Obama, from 12:00 noon to 04:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

More than one million people are expected to participate in the Celebration.  We will carry banners urging/requesting  President Barack Obama to declare Pakistan a Terrorist Sate; stop Iran from producing Atom Bomb; stop Saudi Arabia from funding terrorism; stop Pakistan’s double game with USA; stop Hamas and Hezbollah rocket attacks into Israel; seize Saudi Arabian assets for crimes against humanity; stop repeat of Mumbai terror attack anywhere in the world; denuclearize Pakistan and Iran.

Since Radical Islam has assumed an alarmingly dangerous worldwide proportion, it is absolutely essential that U.S.A, the only Super Power of the world, under the Presidentship of Barack Obama take firm action on those who support terrorism in the name of the extreme idealogies.  US, Israel and India should work together to defeat the axis of radical islam i.e., Pakistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia.  Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists as well as moderate Muslims who do not subcribe to radical Islam need to come together to face this evil.

In last 10 years India faced brutal terrorism in the form of 60,000 terror incidents that killed about 18,000 people, mostly due to radical Islam. Pakistan ISI in coordination with Bangla Desh Security agencies are (with blessings of Osama Bin Laden)  in process of carving out northern portion of India to create Mughalstan, a contiguous area from Pakistan to Bangla Desh.  Part of this process is the 350,000 Kashmiri Hindus who were driven out from their homes by Pakistan supported Kashmiri separatists and are living as refugees in their own country for last 18 years in squalid camps.  In Pakistan itself, 25% of minorities, primarily Hindus were reduced to less than 1% in just last 60 years.  Similarly, in Bangla Desh from 30% to about 7%.  In both countries, minorities were terrorized, raped, mutilated and their children and property taken away from them.

Israel was hit with more than 10,000 rockets in the last 10 years.   In spite of withdrawing from Gaza, it faces a continued threatening situation by rockets from Hamas. Iran on the other hand openly declared to wipe out Israel and is busy building nuclear weapon and supporting Hezbollah and Hamas militants.  Israeli citizens are targeted in many parts of the world by radical islamists.  There is growing concern that nuclear Pakistan will inevitably assist other radical Islamic countries to become nuclear.   It declared that it will do first nuclear strike if India goes on war against it in response to continued Pakistan supported terrorism.

Saudis are biggest funders of terrorism.  With one billion dollar oil revenue per day, they are spreading hatred in young Muslim minds through Madrassas and adult Muslims in Mosques with their intolerant version of Islam.   Pakistan nuclear program was funded by Saudis.   Most of the perpetrators of 9/11 are educated Saudi citizens.  Saudi children are taught to hate other religions from pre-school.     Increasingly, Saudis are islamizing the West with  sanitized versions of Islam in Universities and Media.  The cash starved Western institutions are falling easy prey to cash rich Saudis who has potential to buy most major corporations in the West and set the agenda to radical islamize the west in just few decades.

While the world sees it as a problem between Israel and Gaza, Pakistan and India, the larger sight of radical islam and its ambitions to radical islamize the whole world is lost on politically correct media and multicultural apologists, who are perhaps as dangerous as terrorists, if not more. These apologists trumpet perceived discrimination of Muslims in troubled areas, but little do they question the  brutal treatment of minorities in Islamic countries, fueled by radical islamists.  Nor do they care to comprehend the brutal record of radical islam which in the last 1400 years killed 270 million people, of which are 120 million Africans, 60 million Christians, 80 million Hindus and 10 million Buddhists and the current battles are a continuous ongoing jihad against non-believers.

As Act for America pointed out, far too many of the “leaders” and”elites” of the West simply fail to understand or refuse to acknowledge the unbridgeable chasm between the worldview of the West and the Worldview of the (radical) islamists, that harbors ambitions to enforce brutal medieval Islamic injuctions (including crucifixon, as in the case of Hamas in Palestine) on the whole world.

What Israel and India consisting of oldest civilizations and surrounded by radical Islamic countries are facing is a best example of the future that awaits rest of the free world.   Unless the free world  come together,  we face a very dangerous situation.

We believe that this is an appropriate occasion to draw the attention of powerful media covering this momentous celebration, to the menace of radical Islamic terrorism.  Only by coordinated action by various groups consisting of Jews, Hindus, Christians, Buddhists as well as Muslims who do not subscribe to radical islam and through sustained activism can we hope to counter the threat of radical Islam.

Hence, we will appreciate it very much if you could kindly join us in this Celebration.  Accommodation is provided.  People within 5 or 6 hour drivable distance can go to DC on  Jan 19th night.  Please call any of the undersigned if you have any questions.

Seeing Bhutto Without The Rose-Colored Glasses

Tags: , , ,

By The Stiletto

Atlantic blogger Matthew Yglesias complains that “A remarkable quantity of dumb stuff has been said since Benazir Bhutto’s death” and cites, in particular, this Ipecac Syrup from Washington Post columnist David Ignatius (“”She believed in democracy, freedom and openness – not as slogans but as a way of life. She wasn’t perfect; the corruption charges that enveloped her second term as prime minister were all too real. But she remained the most potent Pakistani voice for liberalism, tolerance and change.”) Whatever else was or was not true about Bhutto, it’s not her guts that are admirable so much as her chutzpah. Think Hillary Clinton, but even more power-mad, scandal-laden – and unbridled by the checks and balances of the U.S. Constitution.

While her assassination has been described by editorial writers as “a blow” to democracy in Pakistan, Bhutto was no more a champion of democracy than the country’s current president, Pervez Musharraf. She was a Third World-class champion at corruption, being one of the most rapacious leaders in her country’s history; a socialist who nonetheless believed that some animals are more equal than others; and was not above harnessing the seething resentment of her followers to stage her own violent coup.

After Bhutto

NC Asks: Who had the most to benefit from this woman’s assassination? Terrorists? Musharraf? Did Musharraf use terrorism as a tool to remove his threat?

******

A nation in crisis.

An NRO Symposium

Editor’s note: Former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi Thursday. National Review Online asked a group of experts on the region to gauge what her murder means for her country.

Jonathan Foreman
I was in Islamabad, Pakistan, four days ago, but it might as well be four months or four years ago: The whole political landscape has changed with Benazir Bhutto’s murder.

In the very short term, Pervez Musharraf is likely to declare another state of emergency or even martial law. Friends calling from the Pakistani capital tonight say that cars are being torched in the street as members of Benazir’s party, the Pakistani Peoples’ Party (PPP), express their anger and grief. This could easily grow into widespread civil unrest, especially in the wake of her funeral tomorrow.

Looking beyond the next few days it seems unlikely that an election will be held on the 8th of January (though both Benazir and Nawaz Sharif were both technically barred from standing for prime minister).

As for Musharraf, he’ll be badly damaged at least in the short term.
