The lawyers for Aysha and Mohamed Bary, the parents of Fathima Rifqa Bary, the 17 year-old Muslim girl who converted to Christianity, assured Orange County District Court today that there is no such thing as honor killing in Islam.

Romin Iqbal assured Circuit Judge Daniel Dawson that such killings are “cultural and tribal” and are not related to “the Islamic religious practice.”

No one in court took issue with Iqbal’s statement, despite the fact that Islamic law clearly calls for the killing of anyone who abandons faith in Allah. “The blood of a Muslim,” the great Sunni jurist Muhammad al Bukhari writes, “may be legally spilt if he turns from Islam and the Muslim community.”

Iqbal and the other attorneys representing the parents are employees of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an organization that has been named by the Department of Justice as a sponsor of terror.

Yet no court official has questioned the legitimacy of CAIR lawyers and its history of obfuscation.

“CAIR has spoken,” a court observer quipped, “the case is over. We can all go home.”

Fathima Bary fled from her parental home in Westerville, Ohio to Orlando, Florida after becoming Christian. She swears her father will kill her if she goes back home. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FBLE) appears willing to take that chance.

In its official report to the court, FBLE states: “Ms. Bary’s concern that she may be killed because of her conversion from Islam to Christianity remains a subjective and speculative concern.” It concluded that there exists “no conspiracy” among family members to commit violence against her.

Ms. Bary argues to the contrary. In a court filing, she swears that her father confronted her in her bedroom and said: “If you have this Jesus in your heart, you are dead to me!” And then, picking up a laptop as if to hit her, he allegedly added: “I will kill you!” A friend reported this incident to local police in Ohio.

Mohamed Bary has admitted to grabbing his daughter’s computer but says he meant only to throw it. He further denies that he ever threatened her life.

Ms. Bary says that her father punched her in the face on the way to mosque one day because she complained about wearing a hijab, an incident which her father denies. She further testifies that her family’s radical mosque advised her father to “deal with the situation” of her Christian conversion, a thinly veiled reference, she says, to honor killing.

The CAIR lawyers assured the court that the concept of honor killing is abhorrent to Muslims.
CNN and others in the mainstream media have attempted to make an issue of Ms. Bary’s truthfulness by pointing to her assertion that she hid her participation in her high school’s cheerleading squad for fear of her father’s disapproval. Investigators, they contend, say they saw photos of the girl in her cheerleading uniform prominently displayed in the family room of the Bary home.

But it’s unclear when the photos were placed on display, and the same investigators have confirmed that Ms. Bary’s mother had denied her daughter permission to join the squad.

Ms. Bary’s mother further told the investigators that her husband believes that if their daughter returns home, she should practice Islam as long as she’s underage and living under their roof.

Florida governor Ted Strickland has issued a statement, saying that the teenage girl should be sent back to Ohio and the Muslim community.

Islamic honor killing are not a new phenomenon in the U.S. Two years ago, on New Year’s Eve, Yaser Abdel Said murdered his two teenaged daughters Sarah and Amina Yaser in cold blood because they became too Westernized.

A “Rifqa Bary” Lives Near You.

Have your heard of Rifqa Bary? She could be the latest literal victim of political correctness, and Islamic fundamentalism right here in the United States. Meet Rifqa. Hear how her heart aches not to be sent back to her father who has pledged to kill her.

Her dad says – through a spokesman – I will not kill you. Jihad Watch’s Robert Spencer retorts, “what does anyone expect Rifqa Bary’s parents to say? “Yes, please send her home so we can chop her into little pieces”? Of course he’s going to kiss and make up with his hallal (dirty, forbidden), filthy, family-name-smearing, stinky, disobedient, embarrassing, dishonoring, little apostate Christian bitch of a daughter. Actually now she’s an unbeliever, so she is worse than a dog.

Dad’s new tactic is to say that a cult brainwashed her, but the facts prove otherwise.

Islamic authorities are busy putting up the lies to protect themselves, but the truth (and Islamic verses contrary to their lies) are here. Islam supports the killing of apostates in order to perpetuate Islam.

I like to think locally. This story is more local than you think. There are 26 “official” mosques in the Puget Sound area [in Washington state], and an unknown quantity of “unofficial” house mosques. One Seattle Times story estimates there to be 75,000 Muslims in Puget Sound. What are the odds that with perhaps a few thousand Muslims here in your neighborhood, that there is ONE “Rifqa Bary” hiding out, fearing for her (or his) life, and hoping upon all hopes that their parents don’t find out that they are Christian. There’s well over 5.2 million Muslims in the United States. Now how many “Rifqa Bary’s” are there?

Rifqua pleads, “This is not just some threat. This is reality. This is truth. … How many more cases do you want? There’s hundreds of them. I am one. I am one of hundreds. They have to [kill me]. You guys don’t understand.” And that is the truth.

Pray for these children.

A pastor and his wife in Orlando, Florida that have taken Rifqa in for her protection. She is 17 and nearly of age to make her own decisions. But what if she was 13 (approximately when she became a Christian)? Or five? What can a 13 year old – who knows well the punishment for falling away from the “Religion of Peace” – do?

The reporter in the video asks, “Do you really think that this is true, or do you think that this is just a threat?” She cannot believe that something so ridiculous as killing you own child for becoming a Christian is possible. And that is the problem that Rifqa faces in America. Some judge somewhere in Florida could say, “this girl’s confused and exaggerating, and she needs to be returned to her parents.” Where they will kill her in strict accordance with the very words of their faith. It IS unbelievable. There are moderate Muslims, but there is no moderate Islam. The moderate Muslims among us are not reading their Qur’an. Strict adherence to Islamic law is unbelievable!

This girl’s life is at stake. The “Rifqa Bary” in your neighborhood’s life is at stake.

Read the Qur’an. Not what CAIR, the Muslim Students Association, or the Islamic Society of North America says. The Qur’an says that you can lie to advance Islam. If ever there were a time to lie about Islam for the sake of Islam, the purposeful killing of a 17 year old girl for becoming a Christian might be the time.

NC Sez:  This young woman had to escape from her parents because she converted to Christianity.  She is trying to convey to the lame stream reporter that it’s required for her parents to kill her as this shows allah that they love him more than their christian daughter.  The reporter doesn’t seem to understand this logic.
