Ten-Point No-Brainer Plan to Reform Healthcare
TR: My good buddy Jefferson Paine weighs in with his ten-point plan to overhaul the “healthcare” system in a jiffy. The reader will note that these solutions are free-market based and would be easy to implement assuming Congress-people had functioning brain cells, oh, and weren’t bought and sold by their special interests – leaving patients and doctors as the “odd men” out (pawns) here. Note that the end result, if this plan were implemented, would result in higher quality service, for less cost, and truly cover more Citizens! All of the things that Big Daddy is now saying you will receive through more coercion, more bureaucracy, all at higher costs! Hellllooooo??
Jefferson Paine’s Easy HealthCare “Reform” Package
- Deregulate Private Insurance companies allowing them to market innovative products to deal with portability, pre-existing conditions, young, uninsured, etc.
- Ban Government from offering “insurance” which is actually Welfare.
- Cap ridiculous “pain and suffering” awards and require the proof in major malpractice be proven scientifically beyond a higher standard than 50/50, and institute some form of “loser pays,” in civil suits.
- Clean up all waste, fraud and abuse in MediCare / MedicAid, and plan to phase out these colossally corrupt Ponzi schemes over a few years.
- Repeal corporate tax breaks for employer-provided medical insurance.
- Ban all Illegal Aliens from receiving free healthcare services, and arrest and deport them when they reveal themselves at medical facilities.
- Allow Private Insurance products to be bought and sold across State lines.
- Ban Government issuing mandates, fines, etc. in Private Healthcare services or insurance, and ban all Government “coercion” forcing one Citizen to pay for another’s medical costs involuntarily.
- Require Government officials and bureaucrats to buy from the exact same choices of private medical services and insurance products as available to the common peon.
- Grant all active and retired military personnel at least the same quality of medical services as those enjoyed by Congress critters.
Any questions?

Obama: Shut Up and Take Your (Bad) Medicine!
by Paul Revere
Aids to the president say that he plans to be more assertive in his address to a joint session of congress Wednesday night. The gloves are coming off, no more unicorns and rainbows (except for radical Islamic whackos who want to kill us infidels).
He’s pretty predictable, so here’s what you’re going to hear:
“We must act now.” Translation: Every time I talk about healthcare, more Americans wise up and get angry about it, so we’ve got to pass this thing before the wheels come off of this monster.
“Every American should have healthcare coverage.” Translation: rich Americans (who can pay for healthcare), people who are temporarily between jobs, those who don’t choose to sign up for government assistance, and ever single illegal alien who’s already bilking the system, must be forced into my new government plan.
“This ‘public option’ has a trigger.” Translation: Heh heh, I’m just kidding about this, ‘cuz the ‘trigger’ is wherever the government sets it, so it’s really, “Take the public option or I’ll pull the trigger.”
“You will still be able to choose your doctor.” Translation: … as long as your doctor is the one I have officially sanctioned. It’s for your own good you know. No, you don’t know, only I know what’s good for you.
“There will be no waiting lines. That’s just scare tactics from those who don’t like change.” Translation: the waiting lines shouldn’t be too bad, because Canadians wont be coming down here for excellent timely service anymore.
“My plan will bring costs down.” (Insert your own laughter track here, because the Congressional Budget Office, Democrats everywhere, and even Obama himself has said this is not true). And besides, it is physically impossible to force every uninsured person into a plan and not have the cost go up. AND whatever government touches it always makes inefficient.
“We musn’t be afraid of change!” (I don’t think anyone’s afraid of change here, we’re just reasonably afraid of the biggest mammoth GOVERNMENT healthcare takeover).
“We are at a pivotal point in American history.” NOW THIS IS THE TRUTH.
This IS the point in American history where we either decide that we want a nanny-state that takes lots more in taxes and gives us back a little of what it thinks is best for us, OR we can say “no” to this socialist healthcare takeover plan – a bureaucratic tax and waste system – and “yes” to free market American style changes that will keep our healthcare system the best in the world while retaining our precious liberties. Check this:
I have heard some of the talking heads saying that some portion of this healthcare bill will get passed. But which sections do we keep?
- Pg 30 THERE WILL BE A GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you get
- Pg 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill – YOUR HEALTHCARE IS RATIONED!!! You can only get so much “care” per year
- PG 50 Section 152 in HC bill – HC will be provided to ALL non-US citizens, illegal or otherwise.
- Pg 58HC Bill – Government will have real-time access to individuals finances & a National ID Healthcard will be issued!
- Pg 72 Lines 8-14 Government is creating an HC Exchange to bring private HC plans under Government control.
- Pg 167 Lines 18-23 ANY individual who doesnt have acceptable HC accrdng to Government will be taxed 2.5%. Yes, tax the uninsured.
- Pg 170 Lines 1-3 HC Bill Any NONRESIDENT Alien is exempt from individual taxes. (You and I will pay for them).
- PG 203 Line 14-15 HC – “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax” Yes, it says that.
- Pg 317 L 13-20 PROHIBITION on ownership / investment. Government tells Drs. What / how much they can own!
- Pg335 L 16-25 Pg 336-339 – Government mandates establishment of outcome based measures. HC the way they want. More rationing.
- Pg 341 Lines 3-9 Government has authority to disqualify Medicare Adv Plans, HMOs, etc. Forcing all into Government HC plan.
- PG 425 Lines 22-25, 426 Lines 1-3 Government provides approved list of end of life resources, guiding you in death.
- PG 430 Lines 11-15 The Government will decide what level of treatment you will have at end of life.
No, we shouldn’t keep ANY of this! Not to mention the astronomical cost will be a recovery killer. This is an anti-choice, extremely expensive, heavy handed, big-government boondoggle that is just plain bad through and through. There is NO REDEEMING PORTION of the democrat’s plan. But there ARE free market solutions that WORK, starting with tort reform. That’s “limiting lawsuits.” The democrats will never put that in their bill because 95% of trial lawyer donations go to democrats; They will never bite the hand that feeds them, even if it is the best thing for the country!

THERE IS ANOTHER PLAN
You’re just not hearing it,
because the mainstream media
wants the democrats’ socialist plan –
and their hero, Obama – to succeed.
And lets face it; the democrats do want their top down total control system to be put in place over you as well. More power for them, less freedom for you. More taxes for them, and a lot less money in your pocket; you won’t be able to afford a different plan even if it was available. But it wont be, because if the government sponsors a public option, they will always be able to undercut the private companies (using your money, I might add), and private companies will go out of business. The only option in the long run IS the “public option.”
SO, here are the bullet points of free market reform that works.
- Reform our health justice system (yes, “tort reform”).
- Fraud & waste reduction, which will be helped by
- Moving from a paper based system to an electronic system
- Create a HEALTH based system (prevention) instead of just caring for people after they get sick
- Tax reform (liberating the health system and rewarding healthy choices)
- Investing in scientific and technological breakthroughs.
Get more details here.
So no matter how the president lays down his “tough talk” before congress, keep your brain firmly engaged, and demand your representatives not support this stinking un-American pile of crappy legislation.
YOU CAN STOP IT!
Contact information is here.
You can always contact your representatives:
- U.S. Capitol switchboard” 1-202-224-3121. Just ask for your senator or representative.
- Write your representatives: You can get contact information here. By entering your zip code on the left side, various contact information pops up. A hand written letter means much more than an email, and generally gets a paper letter response (even if it is a form letter).

New Culture War is over Capitalism
Tea parties, ‘ethical populism,’ and the moral case against redistribution
By Arthur C. Brooks, American Enterprise Institute

Redistribution.
There is a major cultural schism developing in America. But it’s not over abortion, same-sex marriage or home schooling, as important as these issues are. The new divide centers on free enterprise — the principle at the core of American culture.
Despite President Barack Obama’s early personal popularity, we can see the beginnings of this schism in the “tea parties” that have sprung up around the country. In these grass-roots protests, hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans have joined together to make public their opposition to government deficits, unaccountable bureaucratic power, and a sense that the government is too willing to prop up those who engaged in corporate malfeasance and mortgage fraud.
The data support the protesters’ concerns. In a publication with the ironic title, “A New Era of Responsibility,” the president’s budget office reveals average deficits of 4.7% in the five years after this recession is over. The Congressional Budget Office predicts $9.3 trillion in new debt over the coming decade.
And what investments justify our leaving this gargantuan bill for our children and grandchildren to pay? Absurdities, in the view of many — from bailing out General Motors and the United Auto Workers to building an environmentally friendly Frisbee golf course in Austin, Texas. On behalf of corporate welfare, political largess and powerful special interests, government spending will grow continuously in the coming years as a percentage of the economy — as will tax collections.
Still, the tea parties are not based on the cold wonkery of budget data. They are based on an “ethical populism.” The protesters are homeowners who didn’t walk away from their mortgages, small business owners who don’t want corporate welfare and bankers who kept their heads during the frenzy and don’t need bailouts. They were the people who were doing the important things right — and who are now watching elected politicians reward those who did the important things wrong.
Voices in the media, academia, and the government will dismiss this ethical populism as a fringe movement — maybe even dangerous extremism. In truth, free markets, limited government, and entrepreneurship are still a majoritarian taste. In March 2009, the Pew Research Center asked people if we are better off “in a free market economy even though there may be severe ups and downs from time to time.” Fully 70% agreed, versus 20% who disagreed.
Free enterprise is culturally mainstream, for the moment. Asked in a Rasmussen poll conducted this month to choose the better system between capitalism and socialism, 13% of respondents over 40 chose socialism. For those under 30, this percentage rose to 33%. (Republicans were 11 times more likely to prefer capitalism than socialism; Democrats were almost evenly split between the two systems.)
The government has been abetting this trend for years by exempting an increasing number of Americans from federal taxation. My colleague Adam Lerrick showed in these pages last year that the percentage of American adults who have no federal income-tax liability will rise to 49% from 40% under Mr. Obama’s tax plan. Another 11% will pay less than 5% of their income in federal income taxes and less than $1,000 in total.
To put a modern twist on the old axiom, a man who is not a socialist at 20 has no heart; a man who is still a socialist at 40 either has no head, or pays no taxes. Social Democrats are working to create a society where the majority are net recipients of the “sharing economy.” They are fighting a culture war of attrition with economic tools. Defenders of capitalism risk getting caught flat-footed with increasingly antiquated arguments that free enterprise is a Main Street pocketbook issue. Progressives are working relentlessly to see that it is not.

Kremlin warns US not to go Commie in Economic Crisis
Nor should we turn a blind eye to the fact that the spirit of free enterprise, including the principle of personal responsibility of businesspeople, investors and shareholders for their decisions, is being eroded in the last few months. ~ Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin,World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland 2009.
NC sez: When the former Soviet Union leaders are warning not to turn to Socialism in tough economic times it’s time to stand up and take notice!

Crusader for Free Markets & Trade?
Putin recently gave a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, warning governments NOT to concentrate, “assets in the hands of the state”. He stated that ”the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute. In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.”
Below is the recent Putin speech for your review. Free Markets are controlled by natural law. Think about it. Free markets are about freedom to associate with others, freedom to contract with those of your choice, and free expression. Free markets work on cycles like weather. They have up turns and down turns and there is nothing one can do to change that motion. It’s best to leave the cycle of economy alone and let it do its thing which means that economies are best handled by the private sector.

We do Marxism better here!
When governments meddle in economies it cause more problems, makes economic tough times last longer, and effects people in harsher ways. The government has no business trying to control what they have no understanding for.
###
The following text is a transcript of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s speech at the opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Good afternoon, colleagues, ladies and gentlemen,
I would like to thank the forum’s organisers for this opportunity to share my thoughts on global economic developments and to share our plans and proposals.
The world is now facing the first truly global economic crisis, which is continuing to develop at an unprecedented pace.
The current situation is often compared to the Great Depression of the late 1920s and the early 1930s. True, there are some similarities.
However, there are also some basic differences. The crisis has affected everyone at this time of globalisation. Regardless of their political or economic system, all nations have found themselves in the same boat.
There is a certain concept, called the perfect storm, which denotes a situation when Nature’s forces converge in one point of the ocean and increase their destructive potential many times over. It appears that the present-day crisis resembles such a perfect storm.
Responsible and knowledgeable people must prepare for it. Nevertheless, it always flares up unexpectedly.
The current situation is no exception either. Although the crisis was simply hanging in the air, the majority strove to get their share of the pie, be it one dollar or a billion, and did not want to notice the rising wave.
In the last few months, virtually every speech on this subject started with criticism of the United States. But I will do nothing of the kind.
I just want to remind you that, just a year ago, American delegates speaking from this rostrum emphasised the US economy’s fundamental stability and its cloudless prospects. Today, investment banks, the pride of Wall Street, have virtually ceased to exist. In just 12 months, they have posted losses exceeding the profits they made in the last 25 years. This example alone reflects the real situation better than any criticism.

Socialism – It’s the New Philanthropy

Keynesian Economics
“I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system.” -George W. Bush, [his political epitaph] Dec. 16th, 2008
As GWB is swept up in the Keynesian economics revival, and hones his quest to outshine Jimmy Carter’s abysmal legacy, the Cato Institute issued this excellent video debunking this fascination with Robbin’ Hood Economics, and how it consumes wealth while redistributing it around the economy (taking your money and giving it to someone else – for your own good!).
Why don’t these government ass-clowns ever simply ”stimulate the economy” by reducing or eliminating a plethora of taxes, Big Daddy interference, onerous regulations and litigation, over-spending and over-borrowing? How about following the U.S. Constitution instead of trying to circumvent the natural laws of economics?

AIG Offers First Takaful Homeowners Insurance Product for U.S.
NC Reminds: After giving AIG billions in tax dollars they are turning around and thanking the American Taxpayer by going Shariah compliant in their practices. This is an outrage and I would ask anyone angry about this traitorous behavior to email your representatives, and senators, the President and AIG to let them know you will DO NO BUSINESS with them until they repent of this. If islamists want shariah compliant financing or insurance then go back to the wonderful islamonazi country you came from and get it there!
Brigitte Reminds: The article below ran on December 2nd in the online “Insurance Journal,” and illustrates how Shariah-compliant finance is establishing a foothold in American financial and insurance markets. As we all know, AIG is the recipient of a massive government bailout (translation: our tax dollars).
Take special note of the shariah-compliant supervisory board. Muhammed Imran Usmani is the son and disciple of Muhammed Taki Usmani. The elder Usmani is a “who’s who” in the Islamist world and an outspoken proponent of aggressive jihad. For example, he has issued numerous fatwas (religious rulings) that provide material support for terrorism.
The danger of American financial institutions getting in bed with well-known advocates of jihad and terrorism should be obvious to anyone who takes even a cursory look. It was Lenin who stated “The capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.” In their thirst for capital and profits, the same corporate geniuses who gave us the sub-prime meltdown are going Lenin one better. At least the capitalists in Lenin’s day didn’t put him on their advisory boards and give him control over where money can be invested.
So as we connect the dots we see that (1) our tax dollars are being used to bail out a huge insurance conglomerate that (2) is now offering shariah-compliant insurance that (3) is under the direction of an advisory board that includes the son and disciple of one of the world’s leading advocates of Islamic terrorism. In 2009 we are going to need the help of every one of our members to start putting the brakes on this insanity.
Risk Specialists Companies, Inc. (RSC), a subsidiary of AIG Commercial Insurance, is introducing what it says is a first in the U.S.: a homeowners insurance product that is compliant with key Islamic finance tenets and based on the concept of mutual insurance.
The Takaful Homeowners Policy is underwritten through RSC member company A.I. Risk Specialists Insurance, Inc., in conjunction with Lexington Insurance Co. and in association with AIG Takaful Enaya. Headquartered in Bahrain, AIG Takaful Enaya was established in 2006 to provide Takaful products, including accident and health, auto, energy, property and casualty products.
The Takaful home policy is the first installment in Lexington Takaful Solutions, a series of Shari’ah-compliant (Takaful) product offerings in the U.S.
According to Ernst & Young’s 2008 World Takaful Report, Takaful was estimated to be a $5.7 billion market globally with over 130 providers in 2006. The Takaful market is estimated to be in excess of $10 billion by 2010.
Takaful is similar to mutual insurance and cooperative risk sharing but there are key differences including a clear segregation of funds owned by participants and those owned by the insurance operations entity. Investments of funds are also restricted to avoid companies involved in entertainment, alcohol, pork and other elements prohibited by Islamic law.
Muslim countries only account for 5 percent of the global insurance market although they represent 25 percent of the world’s population, according to AIG, which launched its Takaful operation in October 2006.
The Takaful Homeowners Policy builds on LexElite, the homeowners policy from Lexington that is sold throughout the U.S. The Takaful Homeowners Policy is available in all 50 states.
According to Jim Crain, associate vice president and personal lines underwriting director for Risk Specialists, the coverage, terms, commissions and sales proceduers are the same for this new products as they are for LexElite.
“The introduction of Takaful products in the U.S. represents an important and emerging growth opportunity for AIG Commercial Insurance. We are pleased to offer socially responsible solutions to this segment of the domestic market,” said Matthew F. Power, president, Risk Specialists Companies, Inc.
AIG Takaful Enaya is licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain and its Shari’ah Supervisory Board is composed of Shari’ah scholars Sheikh Nizam Yaquby, Dr. Mohammed Ali Elgari and Dr. Muhammad Imran Usmani.
Risk Specialists Companies, Inc. is a U.S. surplus lines broker providing access to specialty casualty, property and personal lines insurance from Lexington and other AIG companies.

As soon as A observes something which seems to him to be wrong, from which X is suffering, A talks it over with B, and A and B then propse to get a law passed to remedy the evil and help X. Their law always proposes to determine what C shall do for X, or in the better case, what A, B, and C shall do for X . . . . What I want to do is to look up C. I want to show you what manner of man he is. I call him the Forgotten Man. Perhaps the appellation is not strictly correct. He is the man who never is thought of . . . .
He works, he votes, generally he prays–but he always pays . . . .
