Obama is a “Long Legged Mack Daddy” Report!

NC sez: I don’t agree with Dr. Manning that this government will deliberately create a lasting depression so as to create a Socialist country.  We are already there.  I also want to say that Economies are on natural cycles,  and all governments can do is make them worse,  or get out of the way,  and allow the natural cycle to take its natural course.  I explain more on this in the piece I wrote in July and on the radio interview I gave back in November.

I have been reporting for over a year that America is in a Depression.  You can listen to the interview I had with Elliott Waves representative, Allan Hall, here or by clicking the Microphone Widget in the sidebar. I also wrote a piece in July making a prediction of the Stock Market decline which you can read here. October will not be a good month for America if my prediction was accurate.

Obama: Shut Up and Take Your (Bad) Medicine!

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

by Paul Revere

Aids to the president say that he plans to be more assertive in his address to a joint session of congress Wednesday night. The gloves are coming off, no more unicorns and rainbows (except for radical Islamic whackos who want to kill us infidels).

He’s pretty predictable, so here’s what you’re going to hear:

“We must act now.” Translation: Every time I talk about healthcare, more Americans wise up and get angry about it, so we’ve got to pass this thing before the wheels come off of this monster.

“Every American should have healthcare coverage.” Translation: rich Americans (who can pay for healthcare), people who are temporarily between jobs, those who don’t choose to sign up for government assistance, and ever single illegal alien who’s already bilking the system, must be forced into my new government plan.

“This ‘public option’ has a trigger.” Translation: Heh heh, I’m just kidding about this, ‘cuz the ‘trigger’ is wherever the government sets it, so it’s really, “Take the public option or I’ll pull the trigger.”

“You will still be able to choose your doctor.” Translation: … as long as your doctor is the one I have officially sanctioned. It’s for your own good you know. No, you don’t know, only I know what’s good for you.

“There will be no waiting lines. That’s just scare tactics from those who don’t like change.” Translation: the waiting lines shouldn’t be too bad, because Canadians wont be coming down here for excellent timely service anymore.

“My plan will bring costs down.” (Insert your own laughter track here, because the Congressional Budget Office, Democrats everywhere, and even Obama himself has said this is not true). And besides, it is physically impossible to force every uninsured person into a plan and not have the cost go up. AND whatever government touches it always makes inefficient.

“We musn’t be afraid of change!” (I don’t think anyone’s afraid of change here, we’re just reasonably afraid of the biggest mammoth GOVERNMENT healthcare takeover).

“We are at a pivotal point in American history.” NOW THIS IS THE TRUTH.

This IS the point in American history where we either decide that we want a nanny-state that takes lots more in taxes and gives us back a little of what it thinks is best for us, OR we can say “no” to this socialist healthcare takeover plan  – a bureaucratic tax and waste system – and “yes” to free market American style changes that will keep our healthcare system the best in the world while retaining our precious liberties. Check this:

I have heard some of the talking heads saying that some portion of this healthcare bill will get passed. But which sections do we keep?

  • Pg 30 THERE WILL BE A GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you get
  • Pg 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill – YOUR HEALTHCARE IS RATIONED!!! You can only get so much “care” per year
  • PG 50 Section 152 in HC bill – HC will be provided to ALL non-US citizens, illegal or otherwise.
  • Pg 58HC Bill – Government will have real-time access to individuals finances & a National ID Healthcard will be issued!
  • Pg 72 Lines 8-14 Government is creating an HC Exchange to bring private HC plans under Government control.
  • Pg 167 Lines 18-23 ANY individual who doesnt have acceptable HC accrdng to Government will be taxed 2.5%.  Yes, tax the uninsured.
  • Pg 170 Lines 1-3 HC Bill Any NONRESIDENT Alien is exempt from individual taxes. (You and I will pay for them).
  • PG 203 Line 14-15 HC – “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax” Yes, it says that.
  • Pg 317 L 13-20  PROHIBITION on ownership / investment. Government tells Drs. What / how much they can own!
  • Pg335 L 16-25 Pg 336-339 – Government mandates establishment of outcome based measures. HC the way they want. More rationing.
  • Pg 341 Lines 3-9 Government has authority to disqualify Medicare Adv Plans, HMOs, etc. Forcing all into Government HC plan.
  • PG 425 Lines 22-25, 426 Lines 1-3 Government provides approved list of end of life resources, guiding you in death.
  • PG 430 Lines 11-15 The Government will decide what level of treatment you will have at end of life.

No, we shouldn’t keep ANY of this! Not to mention the astronomical cost will be a recovery killer. This is an anti-choice, extremely expensive, heavy handed, big-government boondoggle that is just plain bad through and through. There is NO REDEEMING PORTION of the democrat’s plan. But there ARE free market solutions that WORK, starting with tort reform. That’s “limiting lawsuits.” The democrats will never put that in their bill because 95% of trial lawyer donations go to democrats; They will never bite the hand that feeds them, even if it is the best thing for the country!

obamacare-van

THERE IS ANOTHER PLAN

You’re just not hearing it,

because the mainstream media

wants the democrats’ socialist plan –

and their hero, Obama – to succeed.

And lets face it; the democrats do want their top down total control system to be put in place over you as well. More power for them, less freedom for you. More taxes for them, and a lot less money in your pocket; you won’t be able to afford a different plan even if it was available. But it wont be, because if the government sponsors a public option, they will always be able to undercut the private companies (using your money, I might add), and private companies will go out of business. The only option in the long run IS the “public option.”

SO, here are the bullet points of free market reform that works.

  • Reform our health justice system (yes, “tort reform”).
  • Fraud & waste reduction, which will be helped by
  • Moving from a paper based system to an electronic system
  • Create a HEALTH based system (prevention) instead of just caring for people after they get sick
  • Tax reform (liberating the health system and rewarding healthy choices)
  • Investing in scientific and technological breakthroughs.

Get more details here.

So no matter how the president lays down his “tough talk” before congress, keep your brain firmly engaged, and demand your representatives not support this stinking un-American pile of crappy legislation.

YOU CAN STOP IT!

Contact information is here.

You can always contact your representatives:

  • U.S. Capitol switchboard” 1-202-224-3121. Just ask for your senator or representative.
  • Write your representatives: You can get contact information here. By entering your zip code on the left side, various contact information pops up. A hand written letter means much more than an email, and generally gets a paper letter response (even if it is a form letter).

Read up on the latest happenings that directly affect your life: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/

I always recommend contacting your local media (TV, radio, and even print or web media) about these issues. Be sure to tell your friends: face to face, FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace, or link this in your own blog.

And of course, Barack takes your comments (and promptly ignores them) here: President@WhiteHouse.Gov

Get to it.

Don’t even get me started on “Cap and Tax Trade.”

Obama’s response to NC’s letter re: Date Night

Tags: , , , , ,

signpetition

A few weeks back I wrote a letter to Mr and Mrs Obama and emailed it to them regarding their extravagant  ”date nights”.  I think these “date nights”  are nothing more than reasons to live beyond their means and using tax dollars to do and see things they couldn’t afford to do before the Obamunist usurped the POTUS.

But who am I and my observations? I mean, really,  just a few years back this amateur didn’t have taxi cab fare to get home from a seminar,  and now he and his wife are taking three jets, two helicopters and a caravan of carbon heavy SUVs to go to dinner and a play and she is taking her daughters to London for deep fried fish and chips?

Let me also point out that Obama makes himself out to be someone who listens to the American people, so remember that when you read this ridiculous response:

Dear Friend:

Thank you for writing to me.  I appreciate hearing  from you and value your input.

NC Asks:  Then why not answer my complaints re: your waste of tax dollars during a depression?

Each day, I am moved by the messages I have  received from people across the country.

NC asks:  He’s moved?  It appears he thinks this is a victim sob story!

Far too many  Americans are struggling–falling behind on mortgage  payments, coping with illness, or losing a job without  warning.  My Administration is working to address the  serious challenges our Nation faces.  I am committed to immediate steps that generate job creation and  economic recovery, and I am determined to make  investments that lay a new foundation for real and lasting  progress.

NC points out:  Look faux-bama,  you were the one who said if we quickly passed the Stimulus package unemployment would reach ONLY 8%.  Now unemployment figures are reaching 20%. NO!  I do not believe your government “cooked” books! More people have lost jobs, our debt is rising by the second and America is facing a depression worse than the government induced depression of 1929!   It must be nice to have a super majority of rich cats in Congress doing your bidding.  By the way, how are those Goldman-Sachs buddies working out in your administration, Obama?

To build this new foundation, we need health care  reform–this year–that reduces costs, protects health
care choices, and assures quality, affordable care for all  Americans.

NC Sez:  Who wrote that Death Care BILL! DID YOU READ IT!  Will your kids be getting the same government run “health care” as my kids?  I doubt that since you have a paid doctor on staff!

I encourage you to visit  Communist-RunHealthCare.gov to learn more about my commitment to enacting comprehensive health care reform  in 2009.

NC Sez:  It is all about you isn’t it faux-bama?

I am also dedicated to building a clean energy economy that creates millions of jobs, helps us achieve
energy independence, and reduces pollution as we tackle  the effects of global warming.  Please visit
www.Recovery.gov to read about the more than $60 billion  in clean energy investments my Administration has made to  jump-start our economy and build the jobs of tomorrow.

NC Sez:  You have pushed through legislation that will increase the average family’s energy bills by $3000.00 a year AND you have done that during this depression. I see how freakin’ compassionate you are, you fugly bastard! But also the cap and trade bill will force business owners great and small to have to go green in their companies.  Now answer me:  How is raising energy costs for ALL businesses in America going to create jobs?  Why do you never answer simple questions like that?

Let’s do the math:  the small business owner’s energy costs will be raised 500% in one year. Here is his choice: 1. He could pay for his energy increases and the cost to go green,  or 2. he can create a job.

If he doesn’t pay his energy bills and the cost to go green, by gov’t mandate,  then the government will fine him until he does and his power company will shut down his power! Or he can create a job with that money instead.  Yeah I can see how that creates private jobs!  I think they call that fuzzy math!

To prepare our children to thrive in the global  economy, we must guarantee every child a complete and
competitive education.  For information about my  education reform agenda, please join me online at:
www.whitehouse.gov/agenda/education.

NC  Sez: he really means One World Government

At the same time, we have an obligation to rein in  our budget deficit by cutting wasteful spending and
ineffective programs.  We can do all this, and change the  way business is done in Washington, by building the most  open, transparent, and accountable government in our  history.

NC points out:  It is clear to me that Obama is a sociopath. He does not live in the same Reality as you and me.  Obama increased the deficit so much more than Bush ever did and Bush had two wars to fight.  Now say again,  why is it that the current deficit is not Obama’s doing?  Oh, that’s right, when a freakin’ lefturd increases the deficit then the mantra is “We have to spend money to make money”, but when a RINO is in office then the RINO is killing the future of America.  That must be fuzzy logic.

While we repair our communities, we must also  recognize the important contributions of our service men
and women in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other nations.  Our  military and their families have borne an enormous burden  for their fellow citizens, serving with honor and succeeding  beyond any expectation.  For those who have been injured  or lost their lives in pursuit of our freedom, we owe them  undying gratitude.  I am committed to assisting our  servicemembers, veterans, and their families and honoring  our debts to them.

NC Reminds:  Didn’t Obama say he was going to close down the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?  Yes, I do remember that.  Well, he must have fuzzy recall because he has increased American presence in Afghanistan.  Why aren’t the Islamo-fascist appeasers are on every street corner on the first Saturday of each month.
The only way to solve the problems of our time is to  involve all Americans in shaping the policies that affect our  lives.  I hope you continue to explore  www.WhiteHouse.gov, which is regularly updated and  more interactive than ever before.

NC Asks:  Really Obama?  Because you just told those who disagree with you to “get out of the way” and to “shut up”!

Thank you again for writing.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama

To be a part of our agenda for change, join us at www.WhiteHouse.gov

NC Sez:  Well to be part of the American people’s agenda go to ot

And one final question,  Obama: What did any of what you said have to do with you use of  tax dollars for your extravagant DATE NIGHTS?

KEEP YOUR LAWS OFF MY BODY!

IT’S MY CHOICE! NOT YOURS!

NC Sez: The plain and simple matter is TWO THINGS:

1.  Growing Big Government is to ensure the perpetration of government jobs and;

2.  Congress has no Constitutional Right to take what I worked for & give it to someone else whether they work or not! That’s called Legalized Plunder!  << I dare you to read it!

Libturds are already out there calling Americans names and assassinating their characters for doing their Civic duty in showing up to these Town Hall meetings! The libturds are saying stupid things like, “These people ought to learn how to debate their issues instead of raging all over the place.”  Or, “Look at those idiots with their stupid signs at their teabagging protests”

Congress minimizes our genuine concerns, sends us  pat answers to emails we send them,  if their even read them, refuse to read the bills they vote on and then pass laws that hide them from the very laws they force on the rest of us!

The time for debate is OVER!  It’s about damn time Americans got real pissed off & started showing up to town halls, & gov’t offices screaming their heads off if need be to be heard!

Don’t stop! Get Louder!  Send Congress and future Congress Critters a loud deafening sound:  TERM LIMITS HAS ARRIVED! That’s what living in a REPUBLIC is all about!

The libturds can go back to Cooba where they belong because Marxism has so worked down there!

Jolly Bankers Reward Themselves for Failure

Tags: , , , ,

by Milton Trappist, my foggy bottom correspondent

It’s morally wrong to allow a sucker to keep his money.” W.C. Fields

Citigroup and Merrill Lynch, which lost $55bn in 2008, between them paid 1,400 employees bonuses of $1m or more each, according to a New York state report, released on Thursday, on banks propped up with taxpayer funds.

The study, compiled by Andrew Cuomo, New York attorney-general, showed that JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, which both finished in the black last year, paid the most million-dollar bonuses – 1,626 and 953, respectively.

However, the totals at a profitable bank such as Goldman were nearly matched by two of the year’s biggest losers on Wall Street. Citi, which suffered a $27.7bn loss, paid million-dollar bonuses to 738 employees. Merrill, which lost $27.6bn, paid 696 bonuses of $1m or more.

5 Freedoms You’d Lose in Health Care Reform

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

NC Sez:  Because 20 million have no health care insurance Obama wants to steal the best health care on planet earth and force rationed care on all of us.  Let’s not keep mixing apples with oranges and calling it the same.  Health Care IS NOT Health Insurance. There are only about 20 million people who do not have insurance and can’t get it for one reason or another. These people live in states! They do not live in Washington DC,  so why not just allow these uninsured people to buy STATE insurance? The Federal government has NO business being involved with state matters and health INSURANCE is a state matter.  Leave the American Health Care system alone!  The states can do what they can to tweek the health care field in their own states!

And since Obama is CLAIMING he is receiving so many letters that are PRO-federal gov’t rationed health care then it’s time to write him letters letting him hear those of us who want the feds out of our business!

by Shawn Tully

If you read the fine print in the Congressional plans, you’ll find that a lot of cherished aspects of the current system would disappear.

In promoting his health-care agenda, President Obama has repeatedly reassured Americans that they can keep their existing health plans — and that the benefits and access they prize will be enhanced through reform.

A close reading of the two main bills, one backed by Democrats in the House and the other issued by Sen. Edward Kennedy’s Health committee, contradict the President’s assurances. To be sure, it isn’t easy to comb through their 2,000 pages of tortured legal language. But page by page, the bills reveal a web of restrictions, fines, and mandates that would radically change your health-care coverage.

If you prize choosing your own cardiologist or urologist under your company’s Preferred Provider Organization plan (PPO), if your employer rewards your non-smoking, healthy lifestyle with reduced premiums, if you love the bargain Health Savings Account (HSA) that insures you just for the essentials, or if you simply take comfort in the freedom to spend your own money for a policy that covers the newest drugs and diagnostic tests — you may be shocked to learn that you could lose all of those good things under the rules proposed in the two bills that herald a health-care revolution.

In short, the Obama platform would mandate extremely full, expensive, and highly subsidized coverage — including a lot of benefits people would never pay for with their own money — but deliver it through a highly restrictive, HMO-style plan that will determine what care and tests you can and can’t have. It’s a revolution, all right, but in the wrong direction.

Let’s explore the five freedoms that Americans would lose under Obamacare:

1. Freedom to choose what’s in your plan

The bills in both houses require that Americans purchase insurance through “qualified” plans offered by health-care “exchanges” that would be set up in each state. The rub is that the plans can’t really compete based on what they offer. The reason: The federal government will impose a minimum list of benefits that each plan is required to offer.

Today, many states require these “standard benefits packages” — and they’re a major cause for the rise in health-care costs. Every group, from chiropractors to alcohol-abuse counselors, do lobbying to get included. Connecticut, for example, requires reimbursement for hair transplants, hearing aids, and in vitro fertilization.

The Senate bill would require coverage for prescription drugs, mental-health benefits, and substance-abuse services. It also requires policies to insure “children” until the age of 26. That’s just the starting list. The bills would allow the Department of Health and Human Services to add to the list of required benefits, based on recommendations from a committee of experts. Americans, therefore, wouldn’t even know what’s in their plans and what they’re required to pay for, directly or indirectly, until after the bills become law.

2. Freedom to be rewarded for healthy living, or pay your real costs

As with the previous example, the Obama plan enshrines into federal law one of the worst features of state legislation: community rating. Eleven states, ranging from New York to Oregon, have some form of community rating. In its purest form, community rating requires that all patients pay the same rates for their level of coverage regardless of their age or medical condition.

Americans with pre-existing conditions need subsidies under any plan, but community rating is a dubious way to bring fairness to health care. The reason is twofold: First, it forces young people, who typically have lower incomes than older workers, to pay far more than their actual cost, and gives older workers, who can afford to pay more, a big discount. The state laws gouging the young are a major reason so many of them have joined the ranks of uninsured.

Under the Senate plan, insurers would be barred from charging any more than twice as much for one patient vs. any other patient with the same coverage. So if a 20-year-old who costs just $800 a year to insure is forced to pay $2,500, a 62-year-old who costs $7,500 would pay no more than $5,000.

Second, the bills would ban insurers from charging differing premiums based on the health of their customers. Again, that’s understandable for folks with diabetes or cancer. But the bills would bar rewarding people who pursue a healthy lifestyle of exercise or a cholesterol-conscious diet. That’s hardly a formula for lower costs. It’s as if car insurers had to charge the same rates to safe drivers as to chronic speeders with a history of accidents.

3. Freedom to choose high-deductible coverage

The bills threaten to eliminate the one part of the market truly driven by consumers spending their own money. That’s what makes a market, and health care needs more of it, not less.

Hundreds of companies now offer Health Savings Accounts to about 5 million employees. Those workers deposit tax-free money in the accounts and get a matching contribution from their employer. They can use the funds to buy a high-deductible plan — say for major medical costs over $12,000. Preventive care is reimbursed, but patients pay all other routine doctor visits and tests with their own money from the HSA account. As a result, HSA users are far more cost-conscious than customers who are reimbursed for the majority of their care.

The bills seriously endanger the trend toward consumer-driven care in general. By requiring minimum packages, they would prevent patients from choosing stripped-down plans that cover only major medical expenses. “The government could set extremely low deductibles that would eliminate HSAs,” says John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis, a free-market research group. “And they could do it after the bills are passed.”

4. Freedom to keep your existing plan

This is the freedom that the President keeps emphasizing. Yet the bills appear to say otherwise. It’s worth diving into the weeds — the territory where most pundits and politicians don’t seem to have ventured.

The legislation divides the insured into two main groups, and those two groups are treated differently with respect to their current plans. The first are employees covered by the Employee Retirement Security Act of 1974. ERISA regulates companies that are self-insured, meaning they pay claims out of their cash flow, and don’t have real insurance. Those are the GEs and Time Warners and most other big companies.

The House bill states that employees covered by ERISA plans are “grandfathered.” Under ERISA, the plans can do pretty much what they want — they’re exempt from standard packages and community rating and can reward employees for healthy lifestyles even in restrictive states.

But read on.

The bill gives ERISA employers a five-year grace period when they can keep offering plans free from the restrictions of the “qualified” policies offered on the exchanges. But after five years, they would have to offer only approved plans, with the myriad rules we’ve already discussed. So for Americans in large corporations, “keeping your own plan” has a strict deadline. In five years, like it or not, you’ll get dumped into the exchange. As we’ll see, it could happen a lot earlier.

The outlook is worse for the second group. It encompasses employees who aren’t under ERISA but get actual insurance either on their own or through small businesses. After the legislation passes, all insurers that offer a wide range of plans to these employees will be forced to offer only “qualified” plans to new customers, via the exchanges.

The employees who got their coverage before the law goes into effect can keep their plans, but once again, there’s a catch. If the plan changes in any way — by altering co-pays, deductibles, or even switching coverage for this or that drug — the employee must drop out and shop through the exchange. Since these plans generally change their policies every year, it’s likely that millions of employees will lose their plans in 12 months.

5. Freedom to choose your doctors

The Senate bill requires that Americans buying through the exchanges — and as we’ve seen, that will soon be most Americans — must get their care through something called “medical home.” Medical home is similar to an HMO. You’re assigned a primary care doctor, and the doctor controls your access to specialists. The primary care physicians will decide which services, like MRIs and other diagnostic scans, are best for you, and will decide when you really need to see a cardiologists or orthopedists.

Under the proposals, the gatekeepers would theoretically guide patients to tests and treatments that have proved most cost-effective. The danger is that doctors will be financially rewarded for denying care, as were HMO physicians more than a decade ago. It was consumer outrage over despotic gatekeepers that made the HMOs so unpopular, and killed what was billed as the solution to America’s health-care cost explosion.

The bills do not specifically rule out fee-for-service plans as options to be offered through the exchanges. But remember, those plans — if they exist — would be barred from charging sick or elderly patients more than young and healthy ones. So patients would be inclined to game the system, staying in the HMO while they’re healthy and switching to fee-for-service when they become seriously ill. “That would kill fee-for-service in a hurry,” says Goodman.

In reality, the flexible, employer-based plans that now dominate the landscape, and that Americans so cherish, could disappear far faster than the 5 year “grace period” that’s barely being discussed.

Companies would have the option of paying an 8% payroll tax into a fund that pays for coverage for Americans who aren’t covered by their employers. It won’t happen right away — large companies must wait a couple of years before they opt out. But it will happen, since it’s likely that the tax will rise a lot more slowly than corporate health-care costs, especially since they’ll be lobbying Washington to keep the tax under control in the righteous name of job creation.

The best solution is to move to a let-freedom-ring regime of high deductibles, no community rating, no standard benefits, and cross-state shopping for bargains (another market-based reform that’s strictly taboo in the bills). I’ll propose my own solution in another piece soon on Fortune.com. For now, we suffer with a flawed health-care system, but we still have our Five Freedoms. Call them the Five Endangered Freedoms.

Congressional Budget Office (non-partisan): There Are NO Savings

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

by Paul Revere

obamacarePresident Obama either has enormous stones, is “acting stupidly” with healthcare, or his is willfully ignorant, and trying to wish (and “hope”) the giant pile of ca-ca he calls “healthcare reform” to change into something workable. It’s not. ObamaCare is broke before it even gets out the door. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO, non-partisan) says so.

In a highly controversial move, Barack “its all about me” Obama invited CBO head’s over to his digs for some quality bonding time. (Read that Obama’s goons put CBO leaders in a headlock, give them a noogie, and say “now who’s plan gives citizens every drop of healthcare they want for free? Hmmm?”) Thank God the CBO leaders didn’t cave. Zero’s schoolyard bullying tactics didn’t yield the CBO’s milk money; There are no savings. None.

Obama’s own budget from March is more than ambitious, it’s outrageous, and really impossible. Even the “Anointed One” couldn’t change this water into wine.

Against his utopian dreams, Barack sings, “Imagine,” while hoping these things will change from a giant pile of poo to diamonds (to be taxed at a confiscatory rate, of course). (from the White House OMB page, March 2009):

  • Invest in education and in our most precious resource—our people—through a major new commitment to early childhood education, scaling up innovative new programs in our schools, and opening up the doors to college; (can’t go wrong supporting the kids, except there are lots of countries around the world who are beating us in education at half the price. Maybe it’s the NEA?).
  • Invest in clean energy technologies like wind power and solar power, advanced biofuels, and fuel-efficient cars—investments that would help free us from foreign oil, create millions of jobs that pay well and can’t be outsourced, and make clean energy the profitable kind of energy; (“Cap and Trade” will not just hamstring us, it will cut our legs off. $20/gallon gas is “good for us” they say. Unless you like the idea of riding around in a wind-powered wheelchair, this idiotic legislation needs a “no” as well. The whole issue would be mostly solved if we’d build new nuclear plants across the nation) and
  • Cut the deficit in half by 2013. (Considering Obama’s already jacked it up to four times (and climbing) any of Bush’s presidential years, I’d say this one’s a laughable “no go.”)
  • Invest in health care, since rising health care costs are a burden not only for the federal government but also for families, companies, and states; (CBO says this is impossible)

ObamaCare will remain “poo,” and you shouldn’t buy it, even when Democrats sprinkle it with cubic zirconium and tell you how it sparkles. Tell your Senators “the numbers don’t add up, and we mustn’t ram this awful, costly, and completely ineffective piece of legislation down our throats.” It’s not castor oil; it’s sulfuric acid.

Hot Air now reports in a great article entitled, “New Dem strategy on ObamaCare: Ignore the evidence and just trust us!”

After taking shots to the political solar plexus from the CBO on the costs of their health-care reform package, House Democrats have decided to drop the pretense of saving money through ObamaCare.  Instead, The Hill reports that Democrats will argue that the new health-care system will be so good, that it will be worth spending a lot more money on it

There is a better way that reforms healthcare while liberating us from Government shackles. That’s a health benefit that spills over into your whole life. From HealthTransformation.net

  1. Stop Paying the Crooks. First, we must dramatically reduce healthcare fraud within our current healthcare system. Outright fraud – criminal activity – accounts for as much as 10 percent of all healthcare spending. That is more than $200 billion every year. Medicare alone could account for as much as $40 billion a year. (Please visit HealthTransformation.net for the information about our latest CHT Press book, Stop Paying the Crooks, edited by Jim Frogue.)
  2. Move from a Paper-based to an Electronic Health System. As it stands now, it is simply impossible to keep up with fraud in a paper-based system. An electronic system would free tens of billions of dollars to be spent on investing on the kind of modern system that will transform healthcare. In addition, it would dramatically increase our ability to eliminate costly medical errors and to accelerate the adoption of new solutions and breakthroughs.
  3. Tax Reform. The savings realized through very deliberately and very systematically eliminating fraud could be used to provide tax incentives and vouchers that would help cover those Americans who currently can’t afford coverage. In addition, we need to expand tax incentives for insurance provided by small employers and the self-employed. Finally, elimination of capital gains taxes for investments in health-solution companies can greatly impact the creation advancement of new solutions that create better health at lower cost.
  4. Create a Health-Based Health System. In essence, we must create a system that focuses on improving individual health. The best way to accomplish this is to find out what solutions are actually working today that save lives and save money and then design public policy to encourage their widespread adoption. For example, according to the Dartmouth Health Atlas, if the 6,000 hospitals in the country provided the same standard of care of the Intermountain or Mayo health clinics, Medicare alone would save 30 percent of total spending every year. We need to make best practices the minimum practice. We need the federal government and other healthcare stakeholders to consistently migrate to best practices that ensure quality, safety and better outcomes.
  5. Reform Our Health Justice System. Currently, the U.S. civil justice system is the most expensive in the world-about double the average cost in virtually every other industrialized nation. But for all of the money spent, our civil justice system neither effectively compensates persons injured from medical negligence nor encourages the elimination of medical errors. Because physicians fear malpractice suits, defensive medicine (redundant, wasteful treatment designed to avoid lawsuits, not treat the patient) has become pervasive. CHT is developing a number of bold health-justice reforms including a “safe harbor” for physicians who followed clinical best practices in the treatment of a patient. You can learn more at HealthTransformation.net.
  6. Invest in Scientific Research and Breakthroughs. We must accelerate and focus national efforts, re-engineer care delivery, and ultimately prevent diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease and diabetes which are financially crippling our healthcare system.

The Last Thing We Need is a Plan That Raises Taxes and Eliminates Jobs

I would also add a provision to bump illegals off the healthcare dole; we spend billions on free healthcare for uninsured illegal aliens every year. Let the government health system where they came from tackle their issues, we have too many healthcare problems of our own to be just giving it away free. But I digress.

Obama’s plan doesn’t work. No savings. And lets be straight: other provisions in the bill (dictatorial restrictions, actually) are downright evil, power grabs, and an attempt to manipulate not only what you receive in healthcare, but who you vote for, because once democrats have you corralled into their pen, are you really going to vote against the only pathetic healthcare scraps they toss your way?

Democrats cant be trusted with healthcare. Their motives are not out for your best interest.

Just say “no” to ObamaCare.

Here’s how:

You can always contact your representatives:

  • U.S. Capitol switchboard” 1-202-224-3121. Just ask for you senator or representative.
  • Write your representatives: You can get contact information here. By entering your zip code on the left side, and various contact information pops up. A hand written letter means much more than an email, and generally gets a paper letter response (even if it is a form letter).

I always recommend contacting your local media (TV, radio, and even print or web media) about these issues.

Low birthrates aren’t the result of economic growth and political stability; they’re a prerequisite.

by MALCOLM POTTS, and MARTHA CAMPBELL

There is a well-known story about how a society stabilizes its population. As a country transitions from poverty to affluence, birthrates plunge—from six or eight children per woman to just about two. Population growth levels off. Prosperity and education, the story goes, are just about the best form of birth control there is. But this tale gets it backward. Low birthrates aren’t a consequence of national wealth; rather, they’re needed to create it. Soaring unemployment, endemic poverty, and flailing schools are quite simply impossible to combat when every year adds more and more people.
