Aids to the president say that he plans to be more assertive in his address to a joint session of congress Wednesday night. The gloves are coming off, no more unicorns and rainbows (except for radical Islamic whackos who want to kill us infidels).

He’s pretty predictable, so here’s what you’re going to hear:

“We must act now.” Translation: Every time I talk about healthcare, more Americans wise up and get angry about it, so we’ve got to pass this thing before the wheels come off of this monster.

A few weeks back I wrote a letter to Mr and Mrs Obama and emailed it to them regarding their extravagant “date nights”. I think these “date nights” are nothing more than reasons to live beyond their means and using tax dollars to do and see things they couldn’t afford to do before the Obamunist usurped the POTUS.

A close reading of the two main bills, one backed by Democrats in the House and the other issued by Sen. Edward Kennedy’s Health committee, contradict the President’s assurances.

President Obama either has enormous stones, is “acting stupidly” with healthcare, or his is willfully ignorant, and trying to wish (and “hope”) the giant pile of ca-ca he calls “healthcare reform” to change into something workable. It’s not. ObamaCare is broke before it even gets out the door. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO, non-partisan) says so.

There is a well-known story about how a society stabilizes its population. As a country transitions from poverty to affluence, birthrates plunge—from six or eight children per woman to just about two. Population growth levels off. Prosperity and education, the story goes, are just about the best form of birth control there is. But this tale gets it backward. Low birthrates aren’t a consequence of national wealth; rather, they’re needed to create it. Soaring unemployment, endemic poverty, and flailing schools are quite simply impossible to combat when every year adds more and more people.
