Paul Revere Sez:  I admit that I’m a little harsh in this one, and in some spots I seem irreverent. But this could be the pivotal point in my life where I tell my kids “this is where it all went downhill.” And we have an opportunity to bring us back from the brink here, so I have to let it all out before the vote comes. May God help us all.

Dear Senators,

I am against this bill that’s being rushed to the Senate floor.

• Government shouldn’t be in the business of directing healthcare for the nation. THAT IS NOT GOVERNMENT’S BUSINESS. There are MANY ways that “reform” can be handled by the private sector. See Bobby Jindal’s Washington Post article here.
• 2/3 of doctors don’t support this bill. That should tell us something! The president’s photo op was a farce. This is NOT what is best for patients!! Yet democrats insist on pushing this bad legislation anyway? WHY IS THAT? Is it because you think you know better, and all of us plebeians are stupid? How arrogant. That is the only reason I can see for continuing to push this bill that it seems that most free thinking Americans don’t want: arrogance.
• The “public option” is particularly nefarious. Good thing for you that big government also likes to keep our kids stupid in public schools. Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows that if a “public option” is in the mix, it will NOT have to truly compete with private options, but government subsidies will consistently undercut the private options until they are out of business. Not to mention all these “uninsured” will HAVE to chose the public plan (for economic reasons). There is NO WAY that Obama would let a “public system” fail. He has banked too much on that, and he WILL use my money to subsidize it, and cause the downfall of the entire free market American health care system. Which brings me to my next point:
• Government systems suck. Not just the failed socialist examples of western Europe, but right here in America we have Medicare / Medicaid / VA … ALL of these are HUGE WASTERS of money, and every other day I see a new report on TV about the waste that goes on here. If Obama and democrats want us to believe in their system, they should start with these government systems that are in place now, and make them really attractive. As it is, they are an embarrassment, and it just PROVES THAT GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS DON’T WORK. At least they don’t work well. But – given your record – I’m fairly confident you’ll still try to push this “un-wellness” down our throats.
• I love the idea of “universal care for all.” That is so utopian. We DO care here in America that much. But it will drag the quality of care down and push taxes way up. Obama wants quality care that is affordable for all. But when you add 30 million new “customers” and make co-payments really low, you will have a rush on the system that will crush us. It will crush us. There are free market solutions (such as tax incentives for clinics to cater to a certain percentage of uninsured) that will NOT crush us. And conservative ideas – that have so far been almost completely rejected by democrats – can be implemented gradually.
• And we can’t just give healthcare to the world. Again, I am ashamed that democrats won’t put a line in the bill about “no healthcare for illegal immigrants.” We just cant give away healthcare to 12 million people. And Joe Wilson was right: Obama lied. Otherwise democrats would have put a line in the bill about it so Obama could be a man of his word.
• Tort reform. You and your fellow democrats are just money whores on this one. 90% of trial lawyer candidate support goes to democrats, so you just wont cut off the hand that feeds you. Shame on you for sacrificing what is good for America for the good of your political career. Tort reform alone could be the one thing that drastically reduces prices for every single American, and makes all the other health care goals attainable, but democrats wont even put this one on the table. And I am ashamed of them for it. Here is my promise to you: if YOU introduce radical “Tort Reform” into the democrat’s idiotic plan, you will have my vote next election. Lawsuit caps will drastically lower insurance payouts, which lowers malpractice insurance for doctors everywhere, and lowers the cost for every single American. Oh, and this only will happen in a truly competitive market, so I’m sure if Obama has his way, he’ll make it impossible.
• We cant pay for this. We don’t have the money. “Healthcare reform” as democrats have planned is a recovery killer. I will hold you personally responsible if you continue pushing it. It is IRRESPONSIBLE to blast all Americans with mammoth new taxes (which the CBO has said WILL happen under the democrat plan).

Democrats wonder why there is all this resistance out in America to their plan. It’s because we see through it, to the radical power grab that it actually is. This is not “healthcare reform;” it’s “life control.” The democrat healthcare plan is sick! I’ve read the bullet points, and I don’t think there is ANY redeeming value in it. If you think there IS, let’s introduce some individual points and not go all out to tuck all Americans under big governments regulatory wing. It’s un-American and wrong. This big plan as it is should quietly die.

Healthcare reform as a free market system costs almost nothing by comparison. All a conservative approach does is unshackle the system as it stands from the constraints that make it inefficient. Let’s see insurance become “individual,” “portable,” and able to be sold across state lines. Let’s see radical “tort reform.” Lets see a move to electronic records (and computerized searches for fraud, waste and duplication). Let’s use what works well in one state, and transplant that to another. Let’s stop healthcare for illegal immigrants except in the case of imminent life threatening situations. Let’s free up Americans to actually apply “choice and competition” and show the world a system that really works!

Do NOT Support Obamacare.

A picture’s worth a thousand words. I love this shot (from the NY Post). Obama’s staffers are handing out white lab coats to make the hand picked doctors who support Obamacare look more “doctor-ish” for the cameras. Does that make you want to get behind the monstrous takeover called Obamacare?

This should tell you almost everything you need to know:

• Most docs are not supporting Obamacare (statistics below)
• This whole “doctors on the white house lawn” thing was for show…
• Because this huge government takeover of the most intimate part of your life (your health) is on it’s deathbed.

At this photo-op the president lied (again): “When you cut through all the noise and all the distractions that are out there, I think what’s most telling is that some of the people who are most supportive of reform are the very medical professionals who know the health-care system best.”

That is utter nonsense. The facts don’t support that lie. (According to an Investor’s Business Daily poll):

• 2/3 of doctors are against Obamacare. That’s sixty-six percent, or rephrased, “two out of three doctors prefer freedom, choice, and competition” to the big government regulation socialist takeover of one sixth of the nation’s expenditures.
• 45% would consider quitting if Obamacare passes. After all, since the free-market model will be replaced with a communist style democratic plan, doctors would probably be able to make the same money fixing up Harley’s.

The American Medical Association supports Obamacare. BUT 86% of doctors say that the AMA is now too political and out of touch with the doctors it represents. It figures AMA supports big-government takeover, they’d probably get a kickback.

Look, your health is your business. Discuss it with your doctor. Your health has to do with everything you do. Everything. It is not just that government will control and regulate 1/6^th of the economy if the democrats have their way. They will be able to tell you how to live. Really. Right now your kids can’t go to school without proof that their vaccinations are up to date. Multiply that times 100 if Obamacare is in place. If the government controls your healthcare, they can tell you what jobs you can take, and under what circumstances. Sound far-fetched? What if the democrats apply health care tactics to another huge government takeover project: the environment. They could dictate that it is too hazardous for humans to be working on oilrigs, coalmines or nuclear reactors, and then they can regulate strict (unnecessary, or unreasonable) protections for workers that make producing energy too expensive for companies to produce those things on a cost effective basis to consumers. And if employees don’t comply with the government health-based mandates for those conditions: well, then they don’t get health insurance. Oh and if they don’t have health insurance, Obama’s going to charge them 2.5% of their income as a fine …unless you’re an illegal alien of course, in which case you get a pass and “free” healthcare.

Universal healthcare sounds great because we care that much. But if we do it with a big government takeover, you will regret it with your life.

Can we do it with American values under a free market system?

Yes we can!

The conservative alternative doesn’t require a 1,000 page pile of new regulation that has to be passed in the middle of the night when no one is looking. It’s so clean, honest, and good it can be proclaimed in the daylight. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has written an excellent piece in the Washington Post. It is the best, most concise version of free market, conservative ideas that will really work I’ve ever seen. This plan LIBERATES people from the shackles of government, giving them the individual benefits that come with that, and DOESN’T add the RESTRICTIVE shackles that democrats are saying is necessary to accomplish their power grab give you what you need what they know has never worked well in any country where its already been tried.

Again, it’s excellent. He says that the democratic plan for healthcare is over (and you know it is, nearly no one wants it), and it’s time for conservatives of all colors to turn the corner, and go on the offensive with a clear presentation of plans that free people to enjoy better healthcare at lower costs and less government intrusion.

Contact your congress people, and tell them the giant socialist healthcare takeover is over. Send them a copy of Jindal’s piece. And – get this – we can institute these principles gradually, one at a time. I suggest we start with tort reform, and I suggest what Jindal didn’t in his piece: that we use healthcare principles that have worked well in some states, and transplant them to others that are floundering.

But you get the picture. It can be done, and it doesn’t have to be done all at once. Let them know you support a free market solution that liberates us, not shackles us, and one that actually works.

With the President and Congress’s plan to pass comprehensive health care reform reaching increasingly high levels of unpopularity, and reconciliation becoming an impediment, the leadership of the Senate is rumored to be preparing a new secret plan to railroad the bill through the Senate in record time by using a seldom used parliamentary procedure.

Their plan is to proceed to a House passed non-health care bill to provide a shell of legislation to give Obamacare a ride to the House then to the President’s desk.  Sound confusing? We lay out the steps below, but essentially the Senate would pass health care reform as an amendment to a completely unrelated bill so the Senate and House could act quickly and without further debate. Even worse? Nobody really knows what that legislation looks like but they plan on voting for it anyway.

Right now, the Senate Finance Committee is in the midst of marking up health care reform “legislation.” Due to Senate procedure, what they are actually marking up is a 200+ page conceptual framework of the actual legislation, not a real bill. That means that not only has no Senator even read the bill but, there is a high probability that the bill hasn’t even been written yet. If the Committee sticks to their artificial deadline of completing work by this Friday then they would have passed a conceptual document reforming the nation’s health care system, spending trillions, without ever seeing an estimated 1,500 pages of legislation, which may or may not be written.

The current plan is to start debate on Obamacare as early as next week under the following four-step scenario:

STEP ONE: The Senate Finance Committee will finish work on the marking up of Senator Max Baucus’ (D-MT) conceptual framework for legislation by this Friday. Baucus has not unveiled final legislation and, according to the Associated Press, he added some new language to the mark up today. AP reports that “under pressure from fellow Democrats, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee decided to commit an additional $50 billion over a decade toward making insurance more affordable for working class families.”

Senators have not been provided any real legislation and are offering amendments this week to Baucus’ 200+ page outline. It is expected that at the end of the process the Senate Finance Committee may produce a bill longer than the 1,000 page House bill that proved so controversial over the August recess. Many Senators are upset that they don’t have final language for a bill, yet still they sit in a Committee Hearing Room this week marking up a draft document that is not in the form of legislative language. The plan is to have this document voted out of the Senate Finance Committee by Friday.

STEP TWO: Next, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will take the final product of the Senate Finance Committee and merge it with the product of the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee.  This was the late Senator Kennedy’s (D-MA) bill, introduced by Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), which passed the HELP Committee on July 15, 2009 on a party line vote.  Remember, most Senators will still not know what they voted for in the Finance Committee.

STEP THREE: Senator Reid will then move to proceed to H.R. 1586, a bill to impose a tax on bonuses received by certain TARP recipients. This bill was the bill passed by the House in the wake of the AIG bonus controversy and is currently sitting on the Senate Legislative Calendar. Reid will move to proceed, and he will need 60 votes to act on this bill.  After the motion is approved, he will then offer a complete substitute bill purportedly including the combined Senate HELP and Finance Committee products.  This means that the entire health care reform effort will be included as an amendment to a TARP bill that has been collecting dust in the Senate for months.

STEP FOUR: For this strategy to work, the proponents would need to hold together the liberal caucus of 57 Democrats, 2 Independents (Senators Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Bernie Sanders of Vermont), and a potential new member replacing the late Senator Kennedy. This scenario would most likely be implemented after the Massachusetts state legislature gives Governor Deval Patrick the power to appoint a new Senator and that Senator is seated by the Senate. According to CQ, the state legislature may pass a bill and present it to Governor Patrick by next week.

Once the Senate passes a bill and sends it to the House, all the House would have to do is pass the bill, without changes, and President Obama will be presented with his health care reform measure thereby transforming within a few weeks 1/6th of the US economy. If this plan does not work, the Senate and House Leadership may consider using reconciliation to pass the legislation. Does this sound like a transparent, bipartisan and effective way to change the way millions of Americans get their health care? Of course not.

This SOB is an arrogant, condescending, lying Marxist.  Also wait until you hear him explain the Pledge of Allegiance to his constituents. Bishop claims that the word  ”Indivisible”  equates to America being a Socialist Country and if WE ALL don’t pitch in them we will all fall.  I kid you not,  this idiot actually thought he was going to convince Americans that the Pledge of Allegiance affirms the Marxist Agenda.  His constituents need him to be removed in the next elections no matter what!  he needs to go.

This bill [S909] addresses our resolve to end violence based on prejudice and to guarantee that all Americans regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability or all of these ‘Philias’ and fetishes and ‘isms’ that were put forward need not live in fear because of who they are. I urge my colleagues to vote in favor of this rule,  

Declared, Democrat Representative Alcee Hastings, (FL), and impeached judge, in a House Debate regarding the Pedophile Protection Act.  It seems every time one turns on the tv there is another child being assaulted by a pedophile of one extreme to another, or a child has turned up missing because of a pedophile.  Pedophile can mean one who exposes his genitals to another or one who claims that children are trying to seduce him/her into having sex with the victim (pedophile). According to S909, 

The incidence of violence motivated by the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim poses a serious national problem.

A statement like the one made by Hastings is ignorant, and more importantly extremely dangerous!  Hastings seems to not understand that those with fetishes include those individuals with dangerous fetishes dealing with children and women.  Fetishes like watching children play on the playground.  

This bill would force a prosecutor to charge an hysterical parent with a hate crime if that parent physically, or verbally confronted a pedophile who has taken advantage of a child!  Being charged with a hate crime will add an additional 10 YEAR sentence onto the sentence.

So pedophiles need not live in fear if S909 passes,  but you parents might have cause for concern.  

For example,  on my block a man groped a 14 year old and once this act was discovered the parents stormed over to his house pounding on his door and verbally confronted him.  Under this law, those parents could be charged with a hate crime if the perpetrated FELT intimidated by the parent’s actions. Although, no physical harm was caused to this man with a sexual orientation towards children, he was verbally confronted!  

This is an unintended consequence of BAD LAW which Congress is quite famous for passing these days.  They don’t read the bills that go before them and they pass laws down party lines without thinking of any unintended consequence or even the substance of the bill.  When constituents read these bills and confront law makers demanding they not vote for the poorly written legislation, explaining unintended consequences, the Congress Critter round files the letter because of knee jerk party reactions and dictates.

Look, I have worked with many parents of victims of sex crimes and I’m telling you that this is a bad bill because it will give protection to the vilest of people that troll our neighborhoods.  This bill is coming up for a vote this week so please call or fax your senator  (DON’T EMAIL THEM) demanding they vote no on this very poorly written and heinous bill.  

All crime is motivated by hate!

UPDATE:  For those who claim that if one could PREDICT economic trends and what not then they would be billionaires.  Please understand that aside from man’s manipulations ALL economies have up and down cycles and are based on NATURAL LAW just like gravity is based on natural law. Elliott Wave, a socioeconomic research think tank,  and investment advisory service,  is reporting the the third down cycle or impulse wave, which is ALWAYS the largest and most drastic leg of any Elliott Wave cycle has already begun to take place which means a pretty severe stock market crash is indicted by Elliott Wave analysis for the next three months.

Do not believe what the faux-bama and Tax Cheat Timothy Geithner are yammering about regarding this economy,  in that it will turn around this year, as it will will only hurt you!  They are bald face liars,  and of course, the state sponsored media is in lock step with this deceit and reporting to you that America is only going through a Jimma Carter style recession.

America is in a depression.  No Compromise Media has been reporting this depression since last November and our economy has steadily slipped further down into an economic nightmare for millions of American families in the loss of jobs, homes, and futures. 

This depression would have not been as severe had the Congress decided that they stood for Americans and protected our economy, but instead they decided to be driven by their narcissistic fantasies,  and lust for power and that their own personal lives were more important than those they claim to represent.  It is time for Term Limits and it’s time for impeachment charges to be filed against certain congress critters! 

If Americans do not take back Congress in 2010 and strengthen our free market then it’s going to take another 50 or 60 years to get this country back!  There was a severe long-term depression that began in 1721 with the popping of the South Sea bubble and continued all the way until the 1780s.  That depression mimics the one we are seeing today.  The bubbles that are popping today are as extreme as the South Sea bubble in 1720.  

Prepare!  That’s the word for today. Get out of debt, save your money,  and prepare!

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has proposed revoking earlier rulings which established that knives known as “assisted opening” knives are not classified as switchblades.  The new law would not only criminalize “assisted opening” knives but its broader definition of a switchblade would also include virtually any knife that could be opened with one hand.

It is important to note that the CBP’s  interpretation of the Federal Switchblade Act forms the basis of  national, state and even local law and judicial rulings in many cases. Virtually anyone who carries a pocket knife will be affected by this.
