ThoughtRogue:  Has the left gone insane?  (or were they already there?)  Granting Jihadist terrorist combatants MY civil rights under our U.S. Constitution is verging on insane.  And then, trying them in American civilian courts, with all the rules of discovery and evidence, and so on, takes the cake, doesn’t it?

A few Questions which “Progressives” must answer satisfactorily in this case before trying KSM and his band of cohorts in New York City:

• When did OBL and fellow Islamo-fascist terrorists sign on to the Geneva Convention?
• What’s wrong exactly with Military Tribunals for these Jihadi wraiths, which have been used successfully since our Revolutionary War?  (and have recently been successfully vetted by the Supreme Court and Congress)
• Why exactly can’t Leftists understand the simple difference between Militant acts of War, and Civil Crimes?
• Were the horrific attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. really just one great mugging by poor Islamists?
• In selecting his trial’s jury, who exactly will be KSM’s “Peers”?  Can you say, OJ?
• Do we really want the standard of Justice for those who commit Acts of War against us, to gladly let 9 out of 10 Jihadists go free, lest one of them be imperfectly condemned?
• Isn’t this simply a Show Trial by the Obamunists, which will drag-on magically until just before the 2012 election, really their strategy to finally put Bush & Company on trial for their alleged plethora of “crimes” against Jihadists?

On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting “Allahu Akbar!” committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam.

What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Ft. Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of non-denominational shoplifting.

This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it’s an act of terror. Period.

When the terrorist posts anti-American hate-speech on the Web; apparently praises suicide bombers and uses his own name; loudly criticizes US policies; argues (as a psychiatrist, no less) with his military patients over the worth of their sacrifices; refuses, in the name of Islam, to be photographed with female colleagues; lists his nationality as “Palestinian” in a Muslim spouse-matching program, and parades around central Texas in a fundamentalist playsuit — well, it only seems fair to call this terrorist an “Islamist terrorist.”

But the president won’t. Despite his promise to get to all the facts. Because there’s no such thing as “Islamist terrorism” in ObamaWorld.

And the Army won’t. Because its senior leaders are so sick with political correctness that pandering to America-haters is safer than calling terrorism “terrorism.”

And the media won’t. Because they have more interest in the shooter than in our troops — despite their crocodile tears.

Maj. Nadal Malik Hasan planned this terrorist attack and executed it in cold blood. The resulting massacre was the first tragedy. The second was that he wasn’t killed on the spot.

Hasan survived. Now the rest of us will have to foot his massive medical bills. Activist lawyers will get involved, claiming “harassment” drove him temporarily insane. There’ll be no end of trial delays. At best, taxpayer dollars will fund his prison lifestyle for decades to come, since our politically correct Army leadership wouldn’t dare pursue or carry out the death penalty.

Maj. Hasan will be a hero to Islamist terrorists abroad and their sympathizers here. While US Muslim organizations decry his acts publicly, Hasan will be praised privately. And he’ll have the last laugh.

But Hasan isn’t the sole guilty party. The US Army’s unforgivable political correctness is also to blame for the casualties at Ft. Hood.

Given the myriad warning signs, it’s appalling that no action was taken against a man apparently known to praise suicide bombers and openly damn US policy. But no officer in his chain of command, either at Walter Reed Army Medical Center or at Ft. Hood, had the guts to take meaningful action against a dysfunctional soldier and an incompetent doctor.

Had Hasan been a Lutheran or a Methodist, he would’ve been gone with the simoon. But officers fear charges of discrimination when faced with misconduct among protected minorities.

Now 12 soldiers and a security guard lie dead. 31 soldiers were wounded, 28 of them seriously. If heads don’t roll in this maggot’s chain of command, the Army will have shamed itself beyond moral redemption.

There’s another important issue, too. How could the Army allow an obviously incompetent and dysfunctional psychiatrist to treat our troubled soldiers returning from war? An Islamist whacko is counseled for arguing with veterans who’ve been assigned to his care? And he’s not removed from duty? What planet does the Army live on?

For the first time since I joined the Army in 1976, I’m ashamed of its dereliction of duty. The chain of command protected a budding terrorist who was waving one red flag after another. Because it was safer for careers than doing something about him.

Get ready for the apologias. We’ve already heard from the terrorist’s family that “he’s a good American.” In their world, maybe he is.

But when do we, the American public, knock off the PC nonsense?

A disgruntled Muslim soldier murdered his officers way back in 2003, in Kuwait, on the eve of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Recently? An American mullah shoots it out with the feds in Detroit. A Muslim fanatic attacks an Arkansas recruiting station. A Muslim media owner, after playing the peace card, beheads his wife. A Muslim father runs over his daughter because she’s becoming too Westernized.

Muslim terrorist wannabes are busted again and again. And we’re assured that “Islam’s a religion of peace.”

I guarantee you that the Obama administration’s non-response to the Ft. Hood attack will mock the memory of our dead.

ThoughtRogue:  There seems to be some great confusion about the term “Natural Born” Citizen.  Most people and politicians, who also happen to be Constitutionally illiterate, confuse this with “Native Born” – which means one is born on U.S. soil – sorry, but not good enough alone to be eligible for the Presidency. 

Wake Up, America! WAKE UP!

To be “Natural Born” one must be born by U.S. Citizen PARENTS, and be born on U.S. Soil – as was John McCain – and every previous President (apart from a few Founders who are covered by their own clause).  To be a “Naturalized” citizen, is yet something else; it is where people who are not U.S. citizens go through a legalization, or “naturalization”, process to become a Citizen.

A Constitutional requirement to serve as a U.S. Senator is to be a U.S. Citizen – naturalized or otherwise.  The U.S. Presidency, however, as outlined in Article II, Section 1., contains a higher standard – the pre-requisite of being a Natural Born Citizen.  Can an illegal alien invade the U.S., give birth to an illegal “native born” baby, and that child later be eligible for the U.S. Presidency?  No.  That child’s NOT a natural born citizen – even if they legally become a citizen later.

Barack Hussein Obama II, by his own auto-hagiographical admission, cannot possibly be eligible to legally serve as President of the U.S. because his father was a Kenyan National and British colonial subject – no matter where he happened to be born (a birthplace which has NEVER been publicly confirmed).  Thus, BHOII is an illegal Usurper of the office of the President of the United States (POTUS).

Thank GOD our Forefathers had the wisdom to have our U.S. Military Officers swear allegiance, NOT to the POTUS, but to our U.S. CONSTITUTION and to protect it against all enemies – both foreign and Domestic.

Have you asked yourself yet, or asked your family and neighbors, just why the Usurper of the United States, BHOII, has hugged and bowed before every vicious dictator, king, and tyrant on the planet?  Or why he has back-handed every one of our traditional allies – such as berating the State of Israel even while ordering her what to do upon their OWN LAND?!

How can BHOII recite Islamic phrases in Arabic with a near-perfect accent? – a feat according to Islamists.  Just why did BHOII skip out on the National Day of Prayer in which all modern Presidents have participated?  BHOII stated emphatically recently that, not only was our nation NOT a Judeo-Christian nation, but he announced to the world that the U.S. is one of the “largest Islamic nation’s” on earth!  Note:  Barack Hussein Obama II, inherited his name from his Islamic Kenyan father, and went to Muslim primary school in the Muslim nation of Indonesia where he lived with his Muslim step-father while growing up.

After his sudden disassociation from “Rev.” Wright’s radical, racist, “Black Liberation Theology” “church”, the Obama family has curiously and completely run out of luck in finding a “Christian” church anywhere within the District of Columbia which suits their “faith”.

Then, as do all Marxist radicals, BHOII has been hell-bent on cutting the legs out from under our great military.  He has cut the cutting edge F-22 air-superiority fighter program where they produced only a fraction of the originally requested number.  Not to worry they say, the much cheaper JSF will act as a better replacement.  Uh, only one small problem, though – the JSF fighters are not even being produced in numbers in their final form yet!

BHOII ordered the Pentagon to ratchet back our national ballistic missile shield immediately in the wake of North Korea test-firing several missiles in celebration of our Fourth of July festivities last summer.  Now he has scrapped the ballistic missile shield that had been promised to Poland and our Eastern European allies – leaving them to twist in the wind before a resurgent Russian threat.  Is it sheer coincidence that BHOII announced his betrayal of Europe on the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland?  Who was that message for?

The list goes on, and on, even as BHOII admits he knew LAST YEAR of Iran’s second secret underground nuclear facility (which he somehow failed to mention in his recent feckless U.N. speech), he continues to try to back Israel into the corner of nuclear Armageddon – an apocalyptic set-up of our former ally which couldn’t be more “transparent”.

Folks, it is high time to ask yourself regarding this “President” of the U.S.:  WHAT IN GOD’S NAME IS GOING ON HERE?!

Obama Risks a Domestic Military ‘Intervention’

There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America’s military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the “Obama problem.” Don’t dismiss it as unrealistic.

America isn’t the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn’t mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it. So, view the following through military eyes:

• Officers swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.”
• Top military officers can see the Constitution they are sworn to defend being trampled as American institutions and enterprises are nationalized.
• They can see that Americans are increasingly alarmed that this nation, under President Barack Obama, may not even be recognizable as America by the 2012 election, in which he will surely seek continuation in office.
• They can see that the economy — ravaged by deficits, taxes, unemployment, and impending inflation — is financially reliant on foreign lender governments.
• They can see this president waging undeclared war on the intelligence community, without whose rigorous and independent functions the armed services are rendered blind in an ever-more hostile world overseas and at home.
• They can see the dismantling of defenses against missiles targeted at this nation by avowed enemies, even as America’s troop strength is allowed to sag.
• They can see the horror of major warfare erupting simultaneously in two, and possibly three, far-flung theaters before America can react in time.
• They can see the nation’s safety and their own military establishments and honor placed in jeopardy as never before.

So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?

Wait until this president bungles into losing the war in Afghanistan, and Pakistan’s arsenal of nuclear bombs falls into the hands of militant Islam?

Wait until Israel is forced to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear-bomb plants, and the Middle East explodes, destabilizing or subjugating the Free World?

What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, “I’m not interested in victory”) that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent withtheir oath of duty? Do they resign en masse?

Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims?

Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership is lost in a fool’s fog.

Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility?

Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.

Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, “We can always worry about that later.”

In the 2008 election, that was the wistful, self-indulgent, indifferent reliance on abnegation of personal responsibility that has sunk the nation into this morass.

Bands of Heroes

TR:  Based in the verdant English countryside, my late uncle piloted a B-17 bomber in many raids over fascist Germany.  He was shot down by heavy flak, and had to ditch his aircraft and crew in the North Sea on New Year’s Eve 1944.  By the time he and his water-logged fellow airmen made it to shore, they were met by the muzzles of Nazi rifles and un-ending shouts of “Hände Hoch!”  He spent the remainder of the war in Luft-Stalag I, enduring what they called “bread” made mostly from sawdust, and worm-infested gruel dubbed “soup” – until they were liberated one day by the encircling Russians.  They awoke near the end of the war and suddenly realized the guard towers were empty!  The camp’s entire contingent of krauts has entirely bugged out during the night heading for allied lines – for they greatly feared how they would fare if the Russians got a hold of them as opposed to due justice under allied control.

 

We greatly miss you, Uncle Don.  And, We will never forget what you and millions of others did for the cause of Liberty.

Remember, mere months ago during Obama’s campaign where no one could utter his actual middle name HUSSEIN without great retribution from the State Media?  But, now, when you’re creating a grand mirage, selling [snake-]oil to Arabs, and genuflecting to Islamists – NOW, it’s okay to boast of your two Muslim fathers, and your Islamic schooling in Indonesia?  Recently, this phony president denounced all of American history and actually declared that “America is not a Christian nation.”[!]  And, this week, he declares the USA as one of the world’s “largest Muslim nations.”[!!]

Barack Obama’s speech to the Muslim world yesterday started with this bizarre and self-debasing account of tensions between the Muslim world and the US:

We meet at a time of tension between the United States and Muslims around the world – tension rooted in historical forces that go beyond any current policy debate. The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of co-existence and cooperation, but also conflict and religious wars. More recently, tension has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim-majority countries were too often treated as proxies without regard to their own aspirations. Moreover, the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam.

Violent extremists have exploited these tensions in a small but potent minority of Muslims. The attacks of September 11th, 2001 and the continued efforts of these extremists to engage in violence against civilians has led some in my country to view Islam as inevitably hostile not only to America and Western countries, but also to human rights. This has bred more fear and mistrust.

Note that all but one of the factors Obama cites or suggests have Muslim countries as the victims of the wicked West. The only other factor, terrorism, is described by Obama as merely a reaction to the West’s aggressive values, and even then he seems to say that the West’s fear of terrorism is a bigger problem than the terrorism itself.

Advanced Culture

This is profoundly wrong and almost certainly dishonest. Missing from this part of Obama’s analysis is the aggressive wars launched by Muslim nations on each other, on Israel and, covertly, on the West through sponsored terrorism such as the Lockerbie bombing. Missing is the tyranny imposed for so long on most Muslims by their own leaders, and the manipulation of the resentment of citizens into hatred of Jews and the West. Missing is the failure of so many Muslim nations to educate their own citizens and make them wealthy, leaving them to resent the richer West. Missing is that the Muslim world has tense relations not only with the US, but with Israel, Russia. India and Europe.

This is the Big Lie of Obama’s speech, and to support it Obama marshalls a fleet of little lies, too, to flatter rather than illuminate:

As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam.

Which is, in fact, small, if Obama is referring to world civilisation today, however rude that may sound.

It was Islam – at places like Al-Azhar University – that carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe’s Renaissance and Enlightenment.

Which is grossly exaggerated. If Islam was so central, why is the Renaissance yet to be felt in so much of the Islam world even today?

And throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.

It has? Which Muslim country in the Middle East today demonstrates those possibilities as they are demonstrated in almost any nation of the West?

I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America’s story.

In what positive and substantial way?

Sudden Jihadi Syndrome

If this isn’t a case of Sudden Jihadi Syndrome (SJS), I don’t know what is.  The very next day after the unfortunate late-term abortion of mass-abortionist killer, “Dr.” George Tiller, one Carlos Bledsoe guns down two men in front of an Army recruiting office in Conway, Arkansas – assassinating Private William Long.

The alleged “lone” shooter Mr. Bledsoe, who recently returned from “studying” in Yemen, was arrested with an SKS rifle, and other arms and ammunition, and admitted watching Jihadi inciteful propaganda videos among other SJS paraphernalia…  Also, did I mention that he changed his name in April to the innocuous moniker, Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad?

Usurper Obama, who just announced the new Army Secretary, failed to mention a peep about this most recent SJS hit on American Citizens.  However, Mr. Obama did find time join in the universal (Leftist) condemnation of the demise of infanticidal “doctor” Tiller and the “brutal take-down” of the “courageous” man – while declaring that all the innocent blood spilled is somehow actually on the hands of Conservatives.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder wasted no time in dispatching Federal thugs to help safeguard infanticide clinics nationwide, yet regarding the similar protection for military recruiting offices, not a peep has yet been uttered, identically like the Commander-in-Chief’s silence on SJS.
