THE MOSAIC LAW IS RELEVANT TODAY FOR BOTH JEW AND GENTILE

In this essay a discussion will be made of the purpose and relevance of the Mosaic Law in Israelite society as well as the relevance of this Law in the Believer’s life for today. The Mosaic Law is also known as the Torah or first five books of the TaNaK and was given to Moses on Mt. Sinai, perfectly written down on stone tablets by the finger of God (Exodus 19). Torah means instruction or teaching. “Torah can be traced to the Hebrew word meaning ‘to shoot an arrow,’ or ‘to hit the mark’ (Berkowitz A., & D, 1996, p. 7). The hebrew term halakah which comes from the root verb to walk means the habitual walking and practice of the Torah in one’s life. The purpose of the Mosaic Law to the Hebrew people was to make a covenant or brit between the Creator and the new nation of Israel.

Contrary to erroneous popular belief that the entire Torah is obsolete, “ . . . ever since the new covenant of Jesus Christ made the old covenant obsolete (Heb. 8:13)” (H & W, 2005. p. 13), it still has relevant purpose today not only for Israel, but also for those who follow Yeshua, since Yeshua himself followed the Torah. If the Mosaic Covenant (Law) is not relevant, in other words, obsolete, to Israelites today then this covenant is not relevant to the followers of Yeshua either which begs two questions:

  1. By what standard should the people of God–Israelite and Gentile–be walking? and
  2. Did God change His mind?

This paper is intended to show that the covenant made with Israel at Mt. Sinai is that same covenant Yeshua expects His followers to observe today.

The Milk of Colossians–Part I

And Yeshua said to him, that ‘You should love Master YHVH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might and with all your mind. This is the greatest Commandment. And the second is like it.  That you ‘should love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang Torah and the prophets.  Matthew 22:37-40

It’s not enough to open one’s Bible and start reading, we have to train our facilities to understand Scripture within a Context. A text without a context is a pretext, a justification or rationalization of why we believe something, and in the case of Bible living we are commanded by our Brother and Martyr, Peter,  not to personally interpret Scripture.

I want to take a few minutes and give you some meat to chew on with regards to a four chapter letter written to the Colossians by Rabbi Shau’l.  First some background on why I am writing concerning Colossians.

I received a call from an “evangelical Christian,” her words not mine, expressing her concern because of a recent letter I had written to leaders of mainline Christian organizations regarding halal foods and our Biblical mandate not to partake in such foods that have been offered to idols and false gods.   It was a warning letter warning them that an attack on Believers in the realm of food was coming, and to watch for it, and train your pastors what to look for so they could pass this onto their Congregants. As usual no pastor or leader got back to me letting me know that they had received it and heard the message.

After she had read the letter, she sarcastically said the letter “smelled of legalism” and was to Jewish in tone, and was probably why no leader of mainline Christian organizations didn’t and wouldn’t respond to my letter.

Tracy’s Rants! Rants 1 through 3

Pulling out what thin and broken hair I have left!

I am starting a new series called Tracy’s Rants! I have to do this for sound mental health because what I am seeing is so loony and beyond the ability to understand it that I must get out the frustration I am unfortunately feeling. Usually I preach against living by our feelings,  but I am now going to break my own rule and rant away!  You can leave a comment if you so need a place to vent, but be warned, these are my rants,  and I’m not in the mood for being personally attacked for my rants. It is best you just defriend me now if you don’t like what I have said.

I will never rant against an individual as I reject lobbing bombs at people instead what I will attack is their stupid ideology and inconsistent lifestyle,  IF,  let me repeat, IF they are considering themselves as rabbis, preachers, teachers, pastors, evangelists, faith healers, profits, oopps, I mean prophets,  and leaders, of any group of unsuspecting unlearned Bible Believers!

What is the Biblical and Historical Evidence to Support Women Wearing the Tzitzit?

Can she? Is this rebellion or obedience?

More and more women are wearing the traditional tzitzit,  and/or colorful tzitzit on the four corners of their clothes.  I have been Torah observant almost 20 years,  and it has been recently that I have seen this phenomena of women wearing the tzitzit.  In this essay,  I will be examining whether women wearing tzitzit is being obedient to Torah or violating a Torah mitzvot and perpetrating a pagan custom in the Netazrim Assembly.

Men and women each have their own God given callings,  and with that calling,  are certain articles of clothing and behaviors that we wear,  and practice which sets us apart from the world

Deuteronomy 14: 2 – 3:  “For you are a holy people to YHVH your Elohim, and YHVH has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.”

And repeated in,

I Peter 2:9:  “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light . . . .”

In order for men to obey this mitzvot, it is the wearing of the Tzitzit.

Numbers 15: 38 – 41 “Speak to the children (b’nei) of Israel, and tell them that they should make themselves fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put on the fringe of each border a cord of blue: and it shall be to you for a fringe, that you may look on it, and remember all the commandments of  YHVH, and do them; and that you not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to play the prostitute; that you may remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God. I am YHVH your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim: I am YHVH your Elohim.”

And again in,

Deuteronomy 22:12 – “You shall make yourselves fringes on the four borders of your cloak, with which you cover yourself.”

In this passage the word children is translated wrong. The proper word is b’nei (1121) which is translated son, male child, grandson, young men.  The word for girl is the Hebrew word bath (1323) which is daughter, girl, adopted daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, granddaughters, female child. Son means son,  and daughter means daughter.

I Timothy 4: 1-10–What is Paul really talking about?

I Tim 4:1- But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, {4:2} through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; {4:3} forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. {4:4} For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving. {4:5} For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer. {4:6} If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Messiah Yeshua, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed. {4:7} But refuse profane and old wives’ fables. Exercise yourself toward godliness. {4:8} For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come. {4:9} This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance. {4:10} For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. {4:11} Command and teach these things.

Once again, I remind the reader that a text without a context is a pretext also known as a personal opinion.  Our opinions matter not if they are not based in a goodly amount of knowledge,  and in this case,  Scriptural knowledge.

Why do you make such a big deal about halal?

Our hearts are to follow our Creator,  so how do we stay in compliance with Scripture and obedience to Elohim regarding the foods that have been sacrificed to idols? Is it possible to be too aware of this issue?

I Cor. 8: 1-4; 7-13

“Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge.”

We have learned a lot about creeping sharia in the American food supply via halal foods.  More and more people are gaining knowledge,  and understanding about the issue of halal. I believe that it is Elohim’s will for us to be educated about this dangerous plight on America and those of Biblical faith.  I also believe that this issue further separates Elohim’s people from the chaff in the world who will justify themselves so as to not train their facilities to RIGHTLY divide the Word of Elohim. However, we don’t want to get arrogant,  and haughty about having this knowledge because . . .

“Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. {8:2} But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he doesn’t yet know as he ought to know. {8:3} But if anyone loves Elohim, the same is known by him. {8:4} Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other Elohim but one. . . {8:7} However, that knowledge isn’t in all men. But some, with consciousness of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled. {8:8} But food will not commend us (to make us more acceptable) to Elohim. For neither, if we don’t eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better. {8:9} But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak. {8:10} For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol’s temple, won’t his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols? {8:11} And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Messiah died. {8:12} Thus, sinning against the BROTHERS, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Messiah. {8:13} Therefore if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forevermore, that I don’t cause my brother to stumble.”

I want you to notice something here:  Rav Shaul is not talking about unbelievers who see us sitting in temples or eating food sacrificed to idols, but Believers who see us sitting in temples, or eating food sacrificed to idols,  and weak Believers at that!

The Mind of Messiah in a young or weak believer is easily tossed to and fro,  and weak in conscience until they have been discipled and trained in the ways of Torah.  It is our duty as older brothers and sisters to Halakah (walk) as examples to these young Believers what is the good, acceptable and the perfect will of Elohim.

Why Can’t Enoch be that Atoning Sacrifice?

Nutshell Version

I wanted to do a quick write up on two doctrines that confuse people.  The first is the so called “Trinity” doctrine which attempts to explain the “Three in One” concept of Elohim.  The second doctrine, called Aryanism,  is a heresy which threatens the Salvation of many people who attach themselves to it because they are confused by the poor theological explanation of the “Trinity” doctrine.  My goal is to explain the concept of the “Three in One” in very simple terms,  and to smash down every argument that raises itself against the Word of YHVH.

Humans are made up of body, soul and spirit which are created by YHVH. In order to exist, our spirit needs our body,  and soul which hints that a spirit can’t be running around planet earth without a body and soul, but that’s another story.

Our soul is created when the joining of the body and spirit occur.  After we die, our spirit goes back to YHVH, and our body goes back to the earth. See Ecc. 2:7; Gen. 1:27.

Yahshua had a created human body, and soul like ours.  However, His Spirit was not created like our spirit. Instead His Spirit IS YHVH (John 1: 1-2).  In Hebrew, this Spirit is called the Eternal Miltha.

Luke 5: 36-39: Short version: What did Y’shua mean when He said, “No man puts New Wine into USED wine skins”?

April 23rd, 2011 No comments

by No Compromise Media

Luke 5: 36-39: Short version: What did Y’shua mean when He said, “No man puts New Wine into USED wine skins or else the New Wine should burst the wine skins and that wine be poured out and the wine skins be destroyed.”

The New Wine represents the fruit, Us, who are born again through the Ruach Hakodesh that we received believing in Yahshua  the Mashiyach and Deliverer from our sins through His death, burial and Resurrection.

The USED wine skin represents the man made tradition of the Pharisee and the oral law the takanot and ma’ashim which Yahshua referred to as “the leaven of the Pharisees”.

Notice what happens when a portion of the Body of Mashiyach is forced into conformity of the USED wine skin of the rabbinic traditions?  What happens?  The New Wine bursts the old tradition and the New Wine is spilled out because they don’t have the proper container for New Wine. The USED wine skins will be destroyed as well.  This practice shipwrecks the faith of the New Wine.

Tearing a piece out of a new garnet to patch an old garment ruins both the old and the New. The two can not co-exist.
