SAFARI IN HIS FUTURE

SAFARI IN HIS FUTURE

The infamous HB1592 which, in a nutshell, legislates criminal penalties against those who speak out on their personal beliefs against homosexuality of any kind passed the House of Representatives 237-180. Rep. Reichert-R, of the 45th District, voted Yes with such outspoken Socialists like Rep. Jim McDermott of Seattle, and treasonous Rep. Pelosi! What is Reichert thinking? Only 25 Republicans voted Yes on HB1592 and Reichert was one of them! Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. This does not surprise me though.

Reichert has shamed his name and his district in the past by voting against his President and his party many times. This is just another example of why Reichert might want to switch isles. Maybe he will since his district is becoming more liberal as the years go by. It is time for real conservatives to step up and stop supporting RINOs like Reichert once and for all. Make your voices heard on this matter. If you live in his district please email him and let him know he is loosing your support!

If your representative voted yes on this anti-freedom bill please call them and make your voices heard. I have supplied a list for you in the link below.

How can we be honest and say “Support our Troops” out of one side of our mouth, and on the other side of our mouth vote on legislation that criminalizes speech–a protected First Amendment Right?! Am I the only one here who sees the hypocrisy in this?

Keep up the fight!

House GOP leader blasts ‘thought crimes’ bill
Jim Brown OneNewsNow.com May 1, 2007

A top House Republican is voicing opposition to a federal “hate crimes” bill that’s scheduled to be voted on in the House of Representatives this week. House Minority Whip Roy Blunt warns that adoption of that legislation would a terrible mistake.

This week the House of Representatives is slated to vote on HR 1592, a measure that would include crimes against homosexuals, bisexuals, and transgenders in federal hate-crimes statutes. Pro-family groups such as Americans for Truth, American Family Association, and Family Research Council oppose the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007, which is sponsored by Congressman John Conyers (D-Michigan). Those groups argue the bill grants special protected status to homosexuals and threatens the free-speech rights of those who have moral objections to homosexuality.

Roy Blunt (R-Missouri) has similar concerns. He says so-called “hate crimes” are really “thought crimes.”

“We understand the impact this can have on our public discussion and particularly [on] our discussion of religion in the country,” says the GOP leader. “We need to be sure that we understand that criminal activity is criminal activity, murder is murder, assault is assault — we shouldn’t begin to differentiate one individual from another.”

Blunt says the adoption of hate crimes laws in other countries has already led to the prosecution of Christians for publicly speaking out against homosexuality. The U.S., says Blunt, “clearly should not follow the pattern of many countries around the world that have gone in this direction only to find that their churches, their synagogues, their mosques are different than they were before because the people who are leading that religious discussion can’t talk about what they believe.”

HR 1592, which has been given high priority by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, is expected to pass easily in the House. The White House has yet to say whether it would veto the legislation.
